UPDATE: What Crappie Lures/Jigs do you purchase and use the most?

I'm going through my tackle box, and throwing out old jigs I never had much luck with. I am wanting to update my tackle with new jigs. What are you guys using? Brands and colors you seem to have the most luck with. Ive black/chartruse, grey metallic, blue/grey metallic, and some Bobby Garland baby shad in Electric chicken and live minnow. Would like some advice on what other brands/colors I should purchase?
Update: Thanks for all the advice. One other question what colors are best used in fishing muddy water? We've been getting lots of rain here in NE Louisiana and most all the rivers and lakes are muddy.
I've been told to fish dark lures in muddy water and to fish bright colored lures, so I don't know which one is really true.

Used some Wally Marshall stuff.
Matrix Mini has some good stuff. I used to love Slater Jigs out of Mississippi.

Shiners
I hear you, but with jigs you don't have to worry about keeping them alive. I like to set out yo-yos with shiners then fish around with poles while checking on the yo-yos

Been a while since I've targeted them, but when I was a kid my dad and I always wore them out on the same few lures. Either a mini tube on a jighead (dark pink body/pink tail) fished under a cork, or a small white spinnerbait.

Fish with 90% custom hair jigs. I have a pretty good color assortment and sometimes it takes a lot of swapping to get the bite, or the right one. Over brush piles I’ll fish tubes, Bobby’s or slim jimmys. Simply because you loose a lot getting hung up. Check out mudhole’s outdoors for hair jigs with a sickle hook and d&m custom jigs for a standard hook.

I prefer Bobby Garland baby shad and baby shad swimmers in Blue Thunder and Green Hornet colors, but I’ve got about every color they make. I prefer pink and chartreuse 1/8 jig heads.

Make sure you have some of the power bait or gulp niblets and tip you jigs with them. Has made a big difference on some days.

Chartreuse body with a yellow or white jig head.

Don’t buy jigs anymore since I started tying my own. If I’m not throwing my own, it’s Bobby Garland all the way. I stick to the same colors as you mentioned, but am going to tie some Cajun Cricket this year.

Blue Pearl and Blue Goose would be money up here at my favorite lake. Caught my only fish over 15" on something very similar.

Like a few others, I tie my own jigs. Been tying for 5-6 years now and have started selling a lot. It’s very rewarding to see people catch fish on something you made. Custom hand ties are more expensive but well worth the price.
