My sister and BIL had their first about 7 months ago and he has hunted more this year than ever because when they come down to see my parents, we go hunting

He says "why don't we go to your parents house (to my sister) so they can see Madison this weekend?"

Always works, and we always get at least two hunts in

Congrats! You won't miss near as much time as you think you will. Even if you do, it's worth it.

I did that this weekend...Made a trip to Arkansas and hunted my balls off. Between my mow mow, mom and SIL, I had the babysitting taken care of.

Congrats!
Our second one was born in October. I would feed him at 2 or 3 in the morning, get him back down and head to the woods. The days just got shorter for me. I make it a point try and be home by lunch or so. We have 3 boys and I try to get Momma a break.

Congrats man. My twins are almost 2 and we just got to where we can take them to the camp and ride on the atv's and such. It's still tough for me to get a solid weekend of hunting though.

It won't be as bad as you think, my wife has been avid about me getting out of the house to hunt even with our 2 month old.

IIf the dogs tail wakes the baby up at 4 am when im leaving the house I usually have to go into work for a few hours after hunting.

This happened to me on both hunts, the worst was the second one. Apparently young pop woke up screaming as soon as I left, wouldnt calm down, shite all over my wife, etc.

Phone blew up from the time we pulled up to the location at 4 until I hung it up at 9.

Only thing that's going to be any sort of a big deal is that I'll probably have to sell my boat. Not just because of the kid, but because I will definitely be moving for work at the end of the year, and I will not have nearly as many oppurtunities since I'll be farther away and have a kid.

But hell, I get one more summer. And I'm going to eventually need to get a boat that's more kid friendly than a flats boat with barely any sides. I guess I need to start shopping now

Took my 4 y.o. nephew out with us Saturday. Dude went full tilt crazy shooting at snow geese and a few duck decoys with his red ryder.

I tried to sneak mine out of the house

Congrats man, being a dad is amazing. I have a 9 month old and when I'm in the marsh or woods, I just think about how awesome it will be when I can bring him and his red ryder.

I haven't been in a while, since my son was born two years ago. I'm okay with it. I'll get a chance once the house stops getting so hectic.

Just found out I'm not going to be able to get away from the house much next hunting/football season (nine months from now)
I'll be in this predicament soon, but I've planned it so it falls after the seasons

ETA: WIFE DOES NOT KNOW THIS. I'm sorry baby if you're just seeing this
