It's been awhile since I've been offshore and I'm getting a crew together for a tuna trip. Any recommendations for a good captain/outfitter won't of Venice would be greatly appreciated.

Mexican gulf charters, just don't let them talk you into a sword fishing trip

Swords are the thing right now amongst charter capitans , tuna is old news and boring to some of them. Unfortunately sword fishing is not a group activity, they take you and your group out there , they take one rod with an electric reel, hook up a five pound weight to it, drop it a couple thousand feet and idle around all day trying to keep it in the the valleys, you sit and watch the deckhand fish all day

Tuna fishing can be boring if you just chunk all day. We jig, chunk, and use top water.

right now it is about 1700 plus fuel (figure 150-250 gallons at dock price $3.00+/gallon) plus tip, for up to six people, but you should really keep it at 4. accommodations are on your own
