I took the little ones to Rockefeller a few weeks ago and we caught some nice ones on bass heads and back bones from fresh cleaned bass. We out crabbed everyone around us using chicken. I just did it on a whim, but plan to do the same next time. Good luck.

Took my son into west side of West Cove last Friday close to 27 and we picked up 31 in about 3 hours. He's 4 1/2 and knocked a few off the lines and pulled the chicken away from a few. We were crabbing from the boat.

Pretty good bite really. We didn't do it justice at all but he had a blast.

10-4 Thank You!

Make them memories!

My grandson just turned 1yo and i cant wait to take him like we did our kids. So much to teach and so little time in the days.

All you want to catch at Rutherford right now. Scooped up a couple dozen large just walking the shore. The ditches along the way were full of them too but that water just looked too nasty to me

North winds usually clear the beaches up but it was stained yesterday due to the shrimpers being close.

You can drive a 2wd over most the beach and it’s a much cleaner beach than holly beach. Tide started going out about noon today and by 4 pm right at the entrance behind the rocks was a big sandbar all the way to the rocks. When tide was going out you could see the crabs hopefully it will be somewhat clear so you can see them. Hermit crabs everywhere too which is fun for the kids Horseflies were a little aggravating

Definitely thick on grand isle. Last weekend bite got hot around 4pm.

Attempted a grand bayou run couple weeks ago and broke down by the weir. Green jeans was out that day. Luckily I knew someone there to tow me in cause it was hot!

Rockefeller was slow on crabs today. Very few good ones. I feel like from what I see out there and on social media, it’s getting overfished. Plenty people brag about all the crabs they catch and they are small. Now the shrimp were running real well and it was easy to catch 10lbs. Had a few fish to add to the mix. All in all a fun day but if you are going there, get there early. It was packed today.

Thanks for the feedback!
Hoping it works out in our (son is now going) favor. If it dont, I will stop somewhere and buy a dozen or 4 to make up the difference.
