Hell I’m not even from Louisiana and I will go ahead and say that is probably not true.

I'd like to see the regulation that says you cannot legally kill a duck and cook it to eat while camping on a fricking hunting/camping trip. That is retarded.

Thanks for the info. Like I said, my ice box would have a mean rattle snake in it the next trip I took, but that's probably against the law, too.
To add, I kinda wish you would've fought it on principle but understand why you did what you did.

I misread the post. You can cook and eat your harvest at the campsite. Ducks that is

Hard to fight it. I ultimately was guilty of breaking the law. Like I laid out in earlier posts, I was honest with the agent so any playing dumb in court would have gotten blown up due to on scene confession and what not. The justice system is shite. I’ll file this away as a life lesson.

We used to hunt with coon dogs (for years) and there was never a question of limits or license.
Maybe it changed

I can clearly remember as a kid in the late 70s being out with a 22 claiming to be "coon hunting" but were told by WLF that in order to be legally coon hunting we needed a dog with us "it could be a chihuaha in your pocket - but a dog is a must"....

Sorry, I remember the full story now.

Something similar happened last year at our deer camp. We made a morning hunt and a guy kills a deer. He comes back to the camp quarters it and puts in an ice chest (with his name on it and harvest tag)in the back of his truck. He goes and hunts that afternoon and doesn't kill anything. He got back to the camp and green jeans was waiting there and wrote him a ticket for no possession tag.
I guess by the letter of the law, he was in the wrong, but this sure seems like a bullshite ticket IMO.
Even worse than that, there were probably 10 trucks at the camp and the warden had gone through everyone's vehicles and had written down everyone's names off their registrations so he knew who's truck was who's. Needless to say, now the gate is locked every morning when we all show up and all vehicles are locked when we leave to go hunt.

That is bullshite. I wonder what kind of reasonable cause he had for pulling that shite.

The OP is full of shite on at least part of this story.
Migratory game birds violations are heard in federal court.
Racoons are not federally protected, these violations are heard in state district court. No possible way both were heard in the same court.

Literally every single word is true. Due to the high influx of migratory game bird violations they allow state courts to handle the cases.
Last name starts with L. They go in alphabetical order. By the time I was called forward not one person was in court for wlf violations except for the coon guy. Mostly traffic violations, theft and drug possession.

I can guarantee that they were.

So, this was state court?
If so, you will get a big invoice from the state for the value of the ducks taken illegally and you will be placed on probation for a year due to the guilty plea.
