In Fairhope and walk around all the time. I step on a kabillion acorns every morning. It's unbelievable how many there are this year. I hear them bombing metal roofs daily

My place in north central Arkansas has had the least amount of acorns I have ever seen. I imagine it was due to a late freeze up there. All my fruit trees didn't produce either. Only muscadines.

It seems like it's been a bumper crop every year at my place in Lincoln Parish for the last 5 years.

This is terrible news for the barefoot runners among us.

Second year in a row that the cow oaks are not dropping in SW Mississippi. I'm told they drop every three years, so hopefully next year. Red oaks are more consistent, so the few we have are dropping.

North Alabama - We have not had any significant acorns dropping yet. Most trees are fairly thin it looks like.

We had a bumper crop two years ago. couldn't walk under a tree without turning an ankle almost.

This is the reason I haven't run in 10 years. Or really ever really ran at all.

Abundance of acorns means mild winter, as well.

The winter predictions of old timers are usually much more accurate after revision in the springtime!

Yeah I almost busted my arse on my walk this morning. Skated for a good little bit and was thankful I didn't mess my knee up

All of September Deer were draining the corn in my boss buck feeders in 10 days and I was getting tons of daytime pics of bucks and does eating in them. Just before 10/1 they vanished over night and feeders are still 3/4 full. They are hammering the pin oaks and white oaks right now. While trailing 2 deer for my kids last weekend I found several hot oaks full of droppings under them. Just means its time to be mobile and hang a loc on or climber.
