You got a Filson pro staff hookup? I like looking sophisticated whilst harvesting wildfowl.

No, it was bought and paid for by the man who owns it. LOL And don’t try and tell me you wouldn’t take advantage of every legal opportunity you could if you owned it.

Yeh HonkeyBreak is a lodge/ hunting resort of sorts.

History of HB

It is a lot of farmland that was/is used for duck hunting and its fairly close to Catahoula Lake. The entire area around there has a lot of State/Federal conservation programs I believe. Someone could correct me on that though. But I would not guess that the taxpayers are paying for HoneyBreak's existence. Also a large amount of parcels of land in Catahoula parish is agriculture and big portions of the land in the parish is owned by a few individuals. Almost like land barons lol but good for them its a beautiful parish, at least nature wise.

I've only met Tyler once or twice in my life. I'm in the business and have been for close to thirty years now.

The more interesting part of this to me is after a lifetime of working around hunting lodges, outfitters and outdoor celebs, it fascinates me the way people react to someone killing a giant deer. Almost as soon as a picture makes its way to the internet, you have people who begin trying to poke holes in the hunt.

Surely this was a high fence hunt? Looks like someone took him out and hand picked that buck for him. Who the hell is this guy? What makes him so special?

Hell man, I don't know why it still surprises me because over the years I've seen family members turn on one another, life long friends come to blows and people leverage their children's future college education all over an animal that road crews pick up dead off the side of the road every day.

It's just kinda sad to see folks act the way they do over a kid killing a deer.

HB was part of the old Louisiana Delta Farms, which at one time was the largest row crop operation in the country. It does contain the largest WRP area in Louisiana and is intensively managed for waterfowl and whitetail.

It's around 20,000 acres and still has a lot of row cropping on it. I'm just happy someone bought it and decided to reinvest in wildlife.

I like to use a little water to wash off blood and cut off the tongue if it’s hanging out before taking a picture of an animal I’m proud of.

Probably shouldn’t post those pictures here.

I got ya. You knew so much about it I figured you worked there or for real tree. I know what you mean. I know of a grown man shoot an upper 150’s that was crawling out the field after his nephew (10 years old) shot it. He claimed and mounted that deer. That kid was still crying when I measured that deer a couple hours later. Oh yea, and they were even hunting on his nephew’s dad’s farm.

If you’re posting on mobile, turn the phone sideways and move the screen to the right and there’s a bunch of emoticons. Just press one and it pastes the code or whatever into the text box to make it come up.

Best way to get Filson on the cheap is sign up for their emails, and check your email every day of the summer. They’ll randomly run a huge summer sale and you have to jump on it within a couple hours before it all sells out.

Got their field jacket that retails for 475 for like 225 a couple summers ago

Actually there are some pretty good folks in that business.
Lee and Tiffany are as fine and upstanding as you would ever want to meet. Shockey is a good guy as well. Steven Rinella is very cool and easy going.

I will admit though, that there are many who are total egomaniacs and social media and Youtube have given them all platforms.

Jealousy man.

Sheer, petty jealousy. By grown arse men.

Beautiful deer he shot. Certainly would be a lifetime buck for me.

And props to you for remaining cordial and civil while explaining 36 TIMES that it was a free range buck.
