We used to buy crawfish because we couldn't afford shrimp, now we get shrimp because we can't afford crawfish

My neighbors got one a year or two ago. They've never used it. Let's see how this comes out.

I got one of those for Christmas, but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Let me know how it turns out.

First time I saw one I thought it was the dumbest thing ever. My son got one as a gift and I now think it’s the best thing ever.
10 pounds of shrimp will feed a lot of people for 40$ , no need for propane, easy clean up.
I just wish I would have come up with the idea.

It takes a while to come to a berl. Even coming back to a boil.
I might have to change up my my actual boil time. The crawfish might be steamed by the time it gets back to a roll

The drain holes on the top of the lid work good for draining. Smart idea there

You should really fill boil and refill and boil multiple times before actually using.

The amount of chemicals you're gonna leach out of that plastic is enough that even I care about it.

the heating element is exposed to the water.....will it burn your shrimp or crawfish if they roll down to the bottom and come in contact with the element?

I had heard this and when I use mine i fill it way above the fill line. Takes a little longer to boil but shrimp doesn’t cool the water down as much when there’s more of it.

I have one and absolutely love it. Shrimp come out exceptionally well. I add butter to the water when I cut it off and start the soak period.

I found the water comes to a boil quicker with the lid kept on. It usually takes me 15-18 minutes to get a bucket boiling.

Nope. Didn't. Had a bunch of veggies and no burn

I should've marketed this for boiling...it's essentially the same setup I use for doing skull mounts (see my skull mount tutorial in the stickied thread from FlairChops)

Came here to ask. Slow boiling in plastic can't be good for you, right?

Same as the buck bucket for skulls.

Put hot water in the bucket to start and it’ll get going faster.

so it’s a big electric kettle, except it’s plastic?
you guys that have them seem to like it so it obviously works, good on the guy selling these for making the idea reality

but if you already have a propane burner set up I don’t see the point…I just use a smaller pot

note- if you're used to soaking your seafood after the boil, the pot doesn't stay hot like a metal one. therefore, keep that in mind. if you add ice, it'll cool real real fast.

?

I'm old enough to remember when you boiled new plastic bowls and cups for the house BECAUSE they leached chemicals.
