quote:right so blaming the victim when he was burglarize.... Exactly what you and most people in here are doing.
What’s liberal BS is shifting the focus onto something that was never mentioned

Not blaming him because some shite bag broke into his vehicle and stole from him.
But he is fully to blame for leaving a firearm unsecured in that vehicle for some shite bag to steal.
If it was his watch or his laptop none of these people would care because generally speaking someone most likely would not be killed with his watch or laptop but losing a firearm brings a whole host of other problems that a responsible firearm owner takes into consideration.

If the truck was broken into it sounds like he locked up his truck. The gun was secured, it just wasn't secured to the degree you think it should have been.

You clowns can argue with yourselves all you like but you’re showing how ignorant you are. You all sound like bunch of democrats the way you run away from any and all personal responsibility for your poor decision.
And myself as a responsible firearm owner I definitely don’t want or need you clowns speaking for me or make any type argument in defense of my 2nd amendment rights.

reasonable secured
This is subjective. Something Politicians use all too often to divide us. To me, reasonably secured is out of site and contained on my personal property with doors that would have to be opened to get to. To you, the doors have to be locked. To others, doors have to be locked with a safe within those doors that has the firearm locked in. To others, that is not enough. Where does it end? To me, I draw the line at crossing my property. If you give an inch then they will take a mile.

You sound like you’re the life of a party.

I had another adjective in mind but we'll go with yours.
Also from this person:

I think I'm ok with being on different sides of a gun argument with him.

I was going to reply but ChatRabbit, Snipe and others have already said what I would have posted.
Alternate plan: Buy the most expensive custom 1911 that Wilson Combat or Nighthawk make. You'll be less likely to leave $5000 pistol in an unsecured place.
ETA: That's the most upvotes (and some downvotes for the people who posted that it's fine to leave a firearm in a vehicle) I think I've ever given in a thread.

Really wish people would stop saying this. Not 100% true. It is a layman’s phrase used in reference to the ability to defend oneself in their vehicle SIMILARLY as in one’s home. 1. You can walk around naked in your house 2. You can get drunk as you want in your house 3. Try banging one out with your girlfriend/boyfriend in the police station parking lot
One very important difference.
Searching your home requires a warrant granted by a judge, searching your vehicle only requires probable cause as determined by th Officer at the scene.

Lots of stupid responses to your post. It is not your responsibility to secure against thieves. Leave your weapons ready and accessible so long as they don't pose a threat to kids. A thief will take what they want no matter, and it is not your obligation to sacrifice readiness for some stupid moral high ground. Frick anyone who thinks otherwise. Downvote away.

Was your truck broken into or left unlocked? Either way, this is an example of irresponsible gun ownership.
You are exhibiting irresponsible internet access, and people like you will be the downfall of this country. There is no more obligation to remove a weapon from your personal vehicle than their is obligation to remove the battery so the truck can't be stolen. The right to keep and bear arms is absolute, and any attempt to lay responsibility on a law abiding citizens for what a criminal does is abhorrent. Move to Canada.

Please tell me how pointing out the fallacy of your dumbass equivalency is taking up for the rapist? When the rapist leaves his victim, did he get anything from her that could kill other victims? You fricking dipshit
