Didn't have any luck on the MT so I thought I'd try here.

I need to find insurance for my tractor that only stays on my property. To cover it in case of theft/fire etc.

My homeowners policy with USAA only covers it up to $3k, and the tractor is worth about $20k.

State farm and farm bureau will only cover it if I have larger policies with them for home or auto.

Any of you baws have an insured tractor?

I have State Farm for house and two vehicles and ATV. When I bought my tractor, my agent said it was covered by my homeowners even when I took it to my hunting lease.

Get a personal articles policy with State Farm or insure with whoever you bought it from.

Mahindra.

Can't get insurance through them since I bought it outright and didn't finance.

This is what I have. I think it’s about $20 or so per month.

Do you have only that policy or do you use SF for home and/or auto too?

This is correct. Your homeowners won’t cover all (if any) if it’s destroyed or stolen. Get a personal articles policy. They’re pretty inexpensive and the claims process on them is extremely easy.

Good to know. It’s been rolled into my financing for the last five years. Was required to purchase the insurance to get the 0% for 7 yr note.

If the tractor is covered through HO why wouldn't the ATV be? Just curious as I really need to shop around my insurance as I have everything with SF right now.

All I can tell is what the agent told me. That the tractor was covered by HO and the atv wasn't. Geaux figure...

when I had my mower stolen (scag turf tiger) SF paid for a full brand new replacement. They told me to go to Michael Canal and pick out a replacement

Can’t imagine a distinction between a 12K mower and a similar tractor/ATV/whatever

Homeowner policies will generally cover motor vehicles used exclusively to service your premises, like mowers and up to a certain dollar amount for tractors.

While a lot of ATVs are used the same way, they are also used for hunting, pleasure, etc.

There is a provision in Texas HO policies about land conveyance vehicles that excludes ATV’s. This is what I was told when an ATV was stolen and not covered under my HO. I now carry a separate policy on ATV thru Progressive.

Yea pretty much the same thing.

While it isn’t an ATV, I carry an auto policy on my golf cart. At some point in the near future we’re going to sell the golf cart and get a SxS and I’ll have the same policy on it, but I’ll add collision.
