Took my CCL class this weekend. Quick question

I also took it in '13 and never filed my paperwork like the dumb person I am, but my instructor said you can now submit paperwork to LSP online. In submitting online, I know I'd still have to bring a money order to apply for license and fingerprint. Would it be easier to print out the application, get it notorized, and then bring everything to LSP in order to get everything done at once, or should I submit application online to get the ball rolling?

If you can take the time go to br and do it at LSP. You'll get your license much quicker.

I plan on going Friday morning to get my finger prints done. Should I just go ahead and print application and bring it with me, or go ahead and submit it, say tonight, and have them already processing it by the time I get there?

You do not have to pay through a money order anymore if applying online. You can pay with a credit card.

Adding more paper to the electronic process would make your wait time much longer.
Doing it online also does not require a notary anymore.

I'm not 100% sure about the fingerprint payment but I know the online application doesn't require it.
Give LSP a call and ask. They're actually quite helpful.

No digitalized is faster, fill out application online, go to LSP headquarters and take fingerprints, pay for digitized fingerprints at that time. When the application has been processed and ready to be issued you get an email to pay for the license. Pay and then you get the license in the mail.

Let's just say the turnaround time has gotten much larger recently with state budget shortcomings and all the lawlessness lately.
I think LSP does a pretty good job but I honestly think a private company would tear through them much faster and more efficiently.

So fingerprints can be paid for by money order or debit card? In other words, just fill out the app online and go to LSP and say "I need fingerprints"?

Yes, when you enter the LSP building there are chairs on the right with people sitting. People get fingerprints for all kinds of stuff, not just CCL. There are a number of counters (like bank teller spots), there is one on the left for CCL. Many times there is no one there manning the counter, perhaps there is a bell to ring. They CCL workers will come, pull up your application and then put you in line for your fingerprints after they have you pay at a counter on the right side of the room.

Wish I would have known about the online and LSP fingerprinting. I sibmitted.mine in January and they're just now processing it as of last week

So what did you drop off a notarized print copy of the app? Paper card fingerprints? Did you not do the app online?

Nope. Like an idiot, i didn't realize you could submit it online. Filled it all out on the computer, printed it out, got fingerprinted, and turned it all in at LSP
