BTW, if anyone is looking, I should have our first house ready for rent by March. It’s 1500 sq ft, 3 bed/2 bath waterview. 150 Acadian Shores. Right by the 1215 boat launch. But the link I just gave for the one is turtle beach I have no affiliation with but it can be lights out on their dock in March.

Never have done the dock thing on TB, so I was wondering when that goes on.

You are right by my friends camp, and I use the 1215 boat launch a lot even if I'm not staying the night.

Ever notice there are a few ChampioN bass boats hanging out around there?

I had 6 champions and they were great boats.

I just had a nightmare.
Dreamed I was in a cove on Toledo Bend in a Champion Surrounded by Skeeter's.

If they were still made, I'd have one, but gotta say... pretty happy with my cat.

Y'all learn Bamarep about this here Toledo Bend you speak of. Me and my baw used to go to the Glades every year but have backed off of that moving forward. It's literally no challenge to catch those glades panfish. You could catch 300 a day if you wanted to.

Now, we've decided to just pick a lake we've never been to and tear out for a week and see what we can catch. This is our first year doing this and this year we're going to Lake Kissimmee. I know it's popular for bass and we'll do some bass fishing but we're mainly going after crappie.

Y'all sell me on Toldedo for next year.

Looked at basscat, as I had one back in 1993 with 150 hp Johnson fast strike. It was a great boat fast while handling a chop pretty good.

Guy in my bass club was a champion dealer. Sold it for a bigger champion as my kids fished with me, and I fished the California Delta.

Did look at Basscat & Pheonix which are nice last month.
Ordered a Pheonix.
Had a little more room in the boat which sold me on Pheonix.

I’ll try. Crappie are plentiful in Toledo bend and the size is great. We catch a ton of 2lb+ crappie out here. Catching 300 in a day isn’t normal but we catch 100+ often. You can catch hem shallow or deep year around and you can shoot docks, fish brush, stroll, throw road runners over grass, use popping corks, etc. pick how you like to fish. If you decide to come and want to learn the lake one day, give us a shout. Bent Rods Guide Service

I guess I should have been more clear on the 300+ thing. IN the glades, you can catch Oscars and Mayan Chiclids as fast as you can throw something in the water. It's fun as hell because they fight like a mother but not much of a challenge to it.

They're OK table fare but very "fishy."

If we come that way we'll definitely look you up.

Also, I've always wanted to fish the Atchafalaya. I've always been fascinated by that place.

How does one choose pockets/coves? Really love the under cork thing.

If you’re making the trip this way, I’d suggest hitting Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn, and Caddo lake to experience the Louisiana cypress trees and beauty!
