Someone will be along shortly to tell you Tikka is the only rifle worth buying today.

Number makes some beautiful rifles, but I dont like the swing safety.

Got a perfect story for you. One of our best clients bought a $1800 Mountain Ascent in 280 Akley Improved and he got his son a T3 Compact in 7mm-08. He comes back and says that his gun won't group tighter than 2.5" at 100yds (Kimber guarantees 1MOA). We check the mounts, tighten everything, etc and tell him to try again. Comes back with targets. He's still shooting over 2" and his son is at .9". We send the gun back to Kimber and they send it back saying nothing's wrong. They included 2 targets that are well over 1MOA and they marked them like .89 and .84 or some goofy shite. I measured them myself, we wrote the correct numbers (both in 1.7s I believe) and sent them back.
Fast forward, we go back and forth with them for months before they finally agree to swap the rifle out. I think he still ended up buying a Sako
Their customer service is absolute dogshit. They always give us trouble in regards to specs and measurements and they're not helpful at all. Our rep is good, but everyone else there sucks.
They send out little tags to hang on their barrels that say "1MOA guaranteed" and we had to take them all off because so many people bitched about them. Some shoot well, some shoot all over the place. They make some light frickin rifles though, and the quality of the wood on some of their higher models is remarkable.
T3x for me, and I get free Kimbers for selling them. It's the departmental favorite, gunsmiths love working on them because the actions require very little truing, you get a Sako cold hammer forged barrel, and aftermarket support is steadily rising. If you get a Kimber that shoots well, you'll be happy too. Coin flip though

It's crazy how many chassis have come out in just the past 2 years.

Aren't they in two completely different price classes?
Iv e never shot a Kimber, but they are fine as hell to look at and handle. I've shot a ton of tikkas and they were all good shooters. Mine is probably the most ammo-picky out of any tikka I've shot and it'll put rounds it likes under a half MOA. I've found loads that are closer to 1.75 in it though.

I own a tikka T3 and a kimber mountain ascent in .280 AI and if I had to choose right now I'm taking the tikka all day. With that being said I've only tried one kind of ammo out of my Kimber and have found the ammo my tikka likes.

Oh yeah, I remember when you bought that. What is wrong with it/ why do you say Tikka over it?

That's very disappointing. Kimber makes a gorgeous rifle.
People on here laugh at the love, but Tikka/sako is just hard to beat without going custom. (im sure there are better factory rifles, but not many)
My first group with my Tikka out of the box was .64". 5 shot was something like .8" or something ridiculous like that. Action is pure glass, and the trigger is awesome.
The love is warranted.

yeah, it's just haters that are butthurt that they're stuck with X-Bolts or a rusting 700. Tikkas are the way to go

Nah man, Browning is by far the greatest value.
I am still pissed at them for making me miss my biggest deer

I have a Kimber 84 270WSM and I absolutely love it. Great shooting gun, very accurate...I have no complaints whatsoever. I've heard that Kimber's quality isn't what it used to be.
Also never owned a Tikka but plan on picking one up in the future.

Nothing is wrong with it I just haven't had enough time to try shoooting different ammo through to see if the groups tighten up.

Went and shot my Kimber Mountain Ascent today with a good rest and all it took was two shots and there was 1.5 holes.

Not saying this is case because he could have gotten a crap rifle.
However, I'm not trying to dog on anyone or hurt anyone's ego or anything, most shooters can't shoot 1 moa if their life depended on it.
Sure you may get lucky and shoot a 3 shot group that's moa. Do it again and do it 3 weeks from now and then again 3 weeks later. Is bet there are only a handful of shooters here that can actually hold moa consistently.
I just laugh when I see peeps saying their gun shoots like crap, but they are shooting brown bear ammo.
I'm on my period because I have to replace the A/C at my house and I don't want to.

Well , I bought the Tikka 308 .... and the Kimber in
7mm-08 - for my wife . Both are fantastic so far !
I will say the action on the Tikka is much smoother .
