Thinking about making a purchase. Positives vs Negatives. What is the Outdoor boards opinion.

I love mine in .300 Win Mag. Smooth and accurate.

It’s my go to hunting rifle, and available in left hand.

308 myself.

Have the 300wm and 6.5cm. Both shoot lights out with zero work done on them. The 300 does not kick even though it’s 6lbs, I can shoot it all day. Suppressed, they both feel like shooting a .22.

T3 22-250, 5 shots, Nosler Varmegeddons. LOVE THIS GUN.
The flier upper left is when someone next to me went rock n' roll with a braked 308 AR as I was squeezing the trigger. Handloaded Bergers are even tighter.

Plus
I have never been around one that didn’t shoot good
They have a smooth action and trigger
Price is good for what you get

Negative
Stock is cheap looking and feeling and gets scratched up and looks shitty quick.

I don't see how a matte black stock looks cheap, but I agree that it feels cheap. I'm thinking of putting a Boyds on mine.

Thanks for the advice. Time to pull a trigger on purchase.

They're very accurate. I've shot a bunch of them and never had one that didn't shoot really good. Triggers are great. They are extremely light weight. Fantastic rifles.

The only bad things about them are personal preference. Functionally they are great.

Bought one last year in 7mag. Absolutely love it. As everyone has already said, very smooth action, great trigger and super accurate.

I have one in 7 mag and shoot 160gr nosler Accubonds. I’ve shot 1” groups at 200yds with it. That’s mostly the gun. The action are trigger are some of the best from a production gun you’ll find. They keep costs down by pairing it with a cheap stock. No question I’d buy another one if looking.

It looks ok when brand new but after a few hunts with it and it’s all scratched up. The plastic is very soft and it looks worse for wear than a butler creek 10-22 stock I have abused for 20+ years.
It’s not a safe queen and my rifles are tools but it’s prolly the only negative I can think of the rifle.

A light rifle will have more kick. Consider caliber and recoil. Tikka is the bargain line of Sako, which is a fine rifle.

And just as a public service announcement for Tikka folks, do business with Mountain Tactical at your own risk. They don't stand behind their products and have the worst customer service I've ever encountered.

I bought one two years ago. 30.06. Leopoldo scope.
I sponge painted it with a coat of clear.

I don’t box stand hunt or ride in on a 4 wheeler. I enjoy carrying this all day over my Remington 700 in the swamp.

I find they feel cheep when holding them. But that is the only negative. Very accurate and reliable gun.

I agree. Had one in my hands and almost bought it last week. 308 all black. Had I Riton scope to pair with it….which was like 56 at the lenses so it looked way too big for the rifle. Still awesome though.
