Couple things.
How many people per team.

How do we handle the discrepancy in zone hunts. Coastal zone hunter has best chance of smoking a banded first.

Fwiw I have never seen a dead banded bird

Can I still get in on this?

Bourg won't have any bands unless he fights the property owner for them.

I would guess you have to give each zone a chance. I open last, but a banded bird is usually killed opening weekend.

I think bands should not count for anything.

JMO

Also, the 2011 scoring was jacked up. each bird has a different point total, and then tack on 10 more for a limit of a particular species? Did I read that right?

Also, spoonies should most definitely count.

This is just a rough draft but what do you guys think about this?

TDOB 2012/2013 Waterfowl Shootout

Dates

November 10, 2012 - January 27, 2013

Entry Fee

$10 per person ($5 goes towards the banded bird jackpot & $5 goes towards the points prize)

Banded bird jackpot

1st member to kill a banded bird wins

Points

Ducks:

Big Ducks= 2 points each
(mallards, pintail, weigon, canvasback, grayduck, black duck, redheads, mottled, ect.)

Small ducks= 1 point each
(teal, wood ducks, scaup)

Spoonbills, coots, marsh hens, mergansers, gallinule & snipe are not allowed in this contest.

Geese:

Dark geese= 2 points each
(Speckled belly, canadians)

Light geese= 1 point each
(snows, blues, eagleheads)

***Light geese may be hunted during the conservation season but must be killed over a decoy spread. No creeping geese will be allowed in this contest***

***Any banded bird (duck or goose) will increase points of that bird by 10x***

***Neck bands carry the same value as leg bands. If your lucky arse shoots a bird with both a leg band & a neck band, the point value of that bird goes up 20x***

Teams

Teams will consist of no more than 4 members & teams will be picked via draft. The team with the most points at the end of the season wins the $$$.

...................................

It looks like we are going to need 5 team captains for the draft. Feel free to nominate yourself or others as a team captain.

I will update the OP with a list of members for the official draft.

Everyone please post if you want in & are not already on the list.

Also please post where you hunt so I can put that info next to everyones name.

As far as payment, how do you guys feel about just setting up a paypal account & sending the entry fees to that account & then paying the prize money the same way? I'm open to suggestions on this. Feel free to chime in if someone has a better idea or easier way to do it...

Frick I have to bow out, putting my wife through grad school, as bad as it sounds, I can't spare $20 with the budget I have set. I will spectate this year. Good luck to participants though!

That entry fee isn't set in stone. We can change it to $10 or even less than that if need be. I was just trying to get some input on what the amount should be...

What do you guys think?
