Can’t remember seeing this much mast on the ground. White oaks, nuttall, overcup, willow and water oaks, persimmons

Just piles of them

Usually translates to a good squirrel crop for next year

Where you at, I would have thought the drought would have hampered this year's crop.

Same at our place in Lincoln Parish. It's like walking on marbles under the white oaks. Same with the water oak at my house in Lafayette.

Hunted outside Vicksburg 2 weekends ago and was blown away at the acorns on the ground. And it was that way all over the property. Place I hunt in woodville is about the same, sounded like it was raining during my sits a few weeks ago.

Not in north MS

There are some acorns on the ground, but nothing like last year.

Pretty sure things were in motion before this drought started. The trees have enough moisture stored to deal with it.

Never have seen this many acorns. Easily by the tens of thousands.
South Lafourche, below the Intracoastal.

White oaks like I’ve never seen in Jackson parish! They’re usually long gone by now but there’s still some on the ground.

Same here in south Rapides Parish. LOTs of acorns and they are full of meat, and as mentioned, I'm surprised seeing this with the dry summer we had here.

Last year was poor from the hard freeze the year before. The crop of acorns this year is the definition of bumper. Mother Nature evens things out.

Yep the cornpilers are struggling this year. I’ve got a couple (of piles) close to acorns and the deer hardly touch them.
I do notice a lot more squirrel activity since Ida, which is a bonus. My squirrel dog is gonna be much happier this year.
