Vid is around 20 mins long but worth it IMO. The attention to detail and methods are incredible.

Stopped watching at the ~4 minute mark.

Will resume later when home.

With a glass of Redbreast Irish whiskey.

Neat.

Thank you,

Sir.

I have seen that video before and it is great. My son and I made a trip to the Southern Side by Side Championship & Exhibition a couple of weeks ago in North Carolina. It is a shooting competition with only sxs shotguns, and a large portion of the higher end shotgun dealers in the country. There was also a number of manufacturers and some engravers. It was a great trip. There were a number of H&H shotguns there and we could hold them. It was an incredible trip.

If I had the funds for an H&H it would be have to be a 20ga SxS.

Love my small collection (17) of H&H shotguns. If I feel like it later I might lay them down on some gravel and take a few pics for yall.

I think the wait for a new H&H is around 2 years, but it is a true bespoke gun, as you can see in the video.

One of my former partners was a dangerous game hunter and commissioned an sxs 470 NE that was adorned with an African game engraving. It was approaching $200k 15 years ago. His wife got it in the divorce, he was fricking one of his paralegals.

The Double Rifles and Double Guns in the English tradition are some of the finest manufactured goods in all of human history.

The only things comparable are the old school, hand made Rolls Royce cars from the early 20th century (also English).

And this from a nation not particularly known for their great engineering (Generally behind us and their Germanic cousins, the Germans, Austrians and Swiss).

I subscribe to Shooting Sportsman magazine and get depressed reading every issue, knowing that these pieces of art are out of my reach.

The file work and emery cloth work on the metal shows a level of meticulous craftsmanship you hardly ever see in manufacturers today.

And the walnut they used for the stock in that video was a beautiful slab of wood that was shaped and finished with precision. The removal of material by chisels for the metal gun parts to inlay into the wood stock was so precise.

A gun like the ones they make are as much works of art as they are functional.

Guns international has a few in the 8k to 20k range. Not saying that’s affordable but I could see myself having a midlife crisis that resulted in one of those mistakes before a corvette.
