May be a matter of preserving the snake skin. Might be better to kill and then skin immediately, I don’t know.

I don’t understand why they don’t use some type of gripper about 3 feet long to grab the head and control the snake quickly. All this dancing around seems kind of unnecessary.

Yes, guys you can shoot them on private property. This is on Everglades National Park and other state WMAs. They limit fire arms to only certain season. There is a special snake season. But to capture them year round you can’t shoot them out of season.

I know all these TV shows are scripted but this one is so bad I can't watch it...i mean they go in a bomb shelter chasing a snake and Bruce's light goes off. Now it's dark and they cant see but the camera man's lights are on. Lol. So Bruce messes with the light and it magically comes on but the snake is gone..

I binge watched a couple one weekend. Sure, it's scripted. But Troy Landry's reactions cannot be fake. If he is acting, he's great.
He's always telling somebody else what to do. "You grab the head, go!" While he's standing there dancing around yelping, "ooh, ooh!" The things he says sometimes, and his facial expressions, can't be written by Hollywood.

It's still ridiculous, but I'll admit I found it a tiny bit more interesting and watchable than shooting gators in the head while they splash around on the end of a rope.

You can't (legally) discharge a firearm in a national park. The Everglades is a National Park.
