I don’t see why people are shitting all over people who shoot a lot

Because they are too lazy to go to academy as they open when the ammo is there to purchase and, instead, want to blame the rest of us for their lack of effort. "it should just always be on the shelf for my convenience."

Looks like you're set
I usually shoot a lot, too.

I can do similar, although I don't shoot at shotshells. I take the empty ammo box and use it as a target. At 15 yds, my expectation is to put every bullet from the magazine into that box. At 25 yds, I expect to be able to hit it more often than not. "Good enough" for me, is emptying that magazine in 5 seconds or less, with said accuracy.

I own a few different pistols, because I think they're neat and interesting pieces of engineering. Everything is metal-frame, they are competing designs.
CZ 75, Sig P226, Beretta 92... think Mustang, Camaro, Challenger.
(I own more than just the above listed ).

They don't necessarily shoot the same, so you have to become proficient in each. If I'm not there with one, I spend more time with it until I do get there. They each have different controls, some have a safety, a decocker etc. The Sig doesn't have a safety, and the slide release is where the CZ's safety is. You want to be able to handle each gun until your hand "knows" which one it is, and you instinctively move to the correct control.

"Ok, you're set", you say. Thing is, you don't stay there if you don't shoot. It's like shooting free throws, or throwing darts. You maintain a decent proficiency after reaching a level, but you can't put it down for 6 months or so, and expect to pick it back up and start where you left off.

Back on topic

Yeah, this ammo shortage is the pits. I've cut way back, to the point where I'm not shooting centerfire right now, unless I need to confirm function of a firearm (I picked up a couple rifles).

For handguns, which is really my true love, I'm holding off on the big bore stuff and shooting .22's. It's not the same, but at least I can plink away at clothespins and feel like I'm doing something.
Really not much ammo out there. I did see Walmart had some decently priced 30-30, I might stock up on that some more.
Only other ammo they carry that I'm interested in is .308, and honestly, my rifle prefers the cheaper steel stuff (Cetme action).

For handguns, I'm pretty much stocked, but in glancing around, I think the best price (relative to pre-panic) might be 9x18 Makarov. Academy has a case of Wolf for $289, which isn't MUCH higher than it had been before (it'd usually be around $210). Traditional calibers, forget about it. I won't be going back to normal until at least we know the results of the election, probably until we see prices come down again.

Unless your rifle doesn’t shoot them accurately, that’s an awesome bullet. Great expansion, penetration and 100% weight retention.

Bought .380 today at gun store in West Point MS. $39.99 for 100 round box of Winchester Target. Same price as Academy if they ever had any. The store had plenty of ammo with most anything you could want.

I’m down to 1 box each of Remington core locts for my .270 and my son’s 7mm-08.

I’m open to trying anything, but can’t find any on the sites I know online.

Any suggestions?

ETA: is midway USA reputable? Sorry, never bought ammo online

As of yesterday, Rogers Sporting goods had 5.56, 9mm and .40 cal.....picked up a few hundred of each. The 9mm and .40 cal are target practice quality but can be used in other ways if SHTF.
