Opinions? Thoughts? Better buys???

Looking at the 17 and 22 lever actions... just looking.

I just think they are good looking little guns.

I been wanting a .22 to get my kid shooting in a few years, and a plinker for me in the meantime.

All BS aside, henry makes really good stuff. I have the .22 and I'm extremely satisfied with it. For $250 there's no way to beat it.

Well, with all the love the Ruger 10/22 gets it has a competitor, but to me I like the look and operation of the lever action.

I'll take it over a 10/22 every day of the week.

Henry doesn't get enough credit for the quality of the stuff they put out.

I'd like one too, but it will have to be a long term project. :-(

I would just go ahead and snag up something that slings a bit bigger piece of lead. 45 colt anyone?

I have the golden boy 22. I love the accuracy. Thing is a piece of beauty with the octagonal barrel. Don't buy it. I never want to take it out cause I'm scared to scratch the thing. My dad has the regular lever action and the thing is accurate as any gun I've ever shot. Just don't buy the cheapest bullets. You also have 16 bullets to shoot.

I will be buying another lever action soon just to throw in the boat or truck, and not worry about beating it up. Get you a heritage six shooter and a Henry lever and you could rule the world for 400 bucks.

I'd rather one in .357/.38spl because it would be sooooo much cheaper to shoot. Would be a great bounce around in the truck gun

I believe so.

Henry is on par with marlin for quality lever guns IMO

I noticed the Rossi in 38/357 for under $400 and I am tempted to have it as a tuck gun to go with my revolver. Are they decent guns considering the price?

Guns-Test.com reviewed three .357 lever actions this month and gave the Henry a rating of A- (best buy) rating.

Sweet looking gun.

That plain-jane .22 has the smoothest action for the money. I love that gun. It can fire everything from cb shorts & longs, all the way to LR and it doesn't care. Good buy.
