Is there anywhere to park around the Yscloskey bridge?
Following up on this. Buddy and I were down there Saturday and did some scouting. Seems on the shoulder there were some spots that would not be blocking anything and far enough off the road to not cause any issues with passing cars. It was road, grassy area and then trees. So no impeding anyones driveway. Not paved or gravel to indicate anyones parking spot. Very close to the bridge. Any reason this would not be allowable?

Anyone been down to PAC recently? I’ll be down there tomorrow looking for some reds.

I was there a couple weeks ago and caught a few trout, never could find reds or clean water. It was my first time back since Ida and all the underwater mounds of mud everywhere was kind of a pain in the arse.

Gotcha. I heard some good reports out of port sulphur/Venice area. I might hit that up.

Anyone ever fish the causeway bridge out of the yak? What about other options on the northshore? Still relatively new to this area and trying to learn the game.

Yes. It’s not bad. I’d recommend fishing from the south shore. Easy to get to the bridge. I caught flounder, reds, and trout

It’s sad how much damage Ida did to that marsh. The eye went right through there. I doubt I’ll fish for reds in Pac or GM out of basons any time soon. On the bright side the crabs will get a break from crabbers in that area. The marsh will come back and it will get good again. It will just take time

I’m on the waiting list for the Knarr. Thing is fast as hell and bigger than a PA. Only negative is the weight. I’ll have to get a trailer again once I get it.

Thanks for the reply. I’m assuming the bonnabel launch is the best place to put in?

Damn, just saw the Knarr. That's a tank.

Anyone carry in their kayak?
I want to get into kayak camping in the Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Montana areas. Not too worried about bears but mountain lions and people could be a concern. Looking for gun recs and a floatable water tight container for storage while paddling.

What do y’all like in the pedal kayak world these days? Something cheaper than Hobie preferably.

Still love my Native. Wish I used it more.

They are catching up. The 360 drive is a crap shoot. Awesome concept, just not reliable. Old Towne has some nice yaks. Like what Native is designing. I’ll post back when I get to test the Knarr

You can but you can put in closer to the bridge. Just have to have a cart so you can bring it over the levee

The Old Town PDL salty looks pretty good.

Damn had to go back deep to find this thread
But just a quick report on coco
Was able to find some some reds but water was dirty af, north winds did work
Small shrimp are jumping in the marsh so trout will be had soon
Bonus: crabs can be had with nothing but a net, everywhere in shallow ponds

Calling all Big lakers. Heading down in a couple weeks to stay at a camp in the area of the docks south of Deatonville. Will have yaks available. Any yak area suggestions for that area? I normally go to West Cove, and don't mind driving around it that's the better option. My best every kayak trip just happened to be on an October 15 about 5 years ago in West Cove.
