And still no dual steering huh? Being left-handed that's a deal-breaker for me.

Explain this to me. I'm right handed. I primarily fish with RH retrieve baitcasters, so I hold my rod in my left hand and reel with my right. In this scenario I feel like it would be more beneficial if I was a lefty to have steering on that side. The way i do it now, i've gotta swap rod from my left hand to my right hand to make steering adjustments with my left. If I was left handed or used LH retrieve reels, I wouldn't have to do that.

Which now makes me realize another benefit to using LH retrieve baitcasters when I think this out.

Obviously dual steering would be best for every scenario, but what setup are you using that makes the steering be on the wrong side for a lefty?

I use the right side to steer the majority of time because my rod is in my left hand. I still use the left side as well but I like having it on both sides.... I only use RH retrieve reels. Both Baitcasters and Spinning. And for the life of me I'll never understand why so many people use RH Baitcasters but LH Spinning.

I've always wondered this too, but i'm guilty as hell lol. Maybe I should switch to all LHs to help with the steering issue

Couldn’t really tell from the vid, but remember on my Wilderness you could switch the steering controls from one side to the other
Maybe the same deal here but it’s a solid looking rig but the 3k price pt seems a lil steep
Guess that’s where we’re headed these days

Native recently had a price increase on all models due to the demand and cost of raw materials increasing for them.

It's retarded to do otherwise.

Yeah that makes sense it’s just crazy to think 5 yrs ago the $2000+ price tag was nuts to me, now it’s the norm

It's been a struggle everywhere I've been. Where y'all thinking Saturday? I know I'm heading east as long as the weather is ok.

Hobie has been pumping up a big release at ICast this year. I think many were speculating maybe an Outback with a 360 Drive. Nope...behold the exact kayak they released at ICast two years ago but in red with shark teeth for an extra $300.

They way overhyped this IMO.

Yep. I was expecting something a lot bigger than a new color on an existing model. That color does look nice though. The shark teeth looks stupid though and I wouldn't pay extra for it over the other colors

The red camo minus the ridiculous looking shark teeth and eyes actually looks really nice, and definitely what I'd go for if I was after a 360, but not for $300 more. Guess they need the extra money to pay for the Ike endorsement.

Looking for my first fishing yak. I have really been enticed by the Old Town Topwater 106. Any other recs in that $500-$1000 price range?

Just pond/lake, small river use. Mainly bass fishing and catfishing. Preferably something I could toss a cast net from with little-to-no stability issues.

Two I've been impressed with in that price range:

Precision Pescador Pro
Emotion Stealth Angler Pro

Both are rotomolded and designed for fishing. I own a Stealth Angler Pro and for the last three years it's been awesome.

I just recently upgraded to a Jackson Coosa HD, and I love it. But no complaints about the Emotion.
