if you're talking about the sealed lead acid one then it will be fine if it get a lil water on it or gets wet (but not submerged) because its 100% sealed but if the leads get wet say with a some type of cloth then it will discharge or short
now the lithium ion is a different story those I wouldn't get wet at all

Not great, caught a couple reds and a trout for like 4.6lb or something like that, fought the wind, had my anchor trolley rip out of my hull, couldn't find a flounder.

5 slams total, slams can be pretty tough to come by, I think last year there was only 3.

Will I have any issues if that battery gets wet?

I'm pretty hard on my gear. For various (admittedly stupid) reasons, I've completely soaked the lithium ion battery 2x. Both time I took it home, un-screwed the housing and let it air dry. Put it back together and it was as good as new.

Your cell phone batteries are li-ion as are almost all of your consumer electronics. I wouldn't worry about that. I've been very pleased with me setup.

ETA: pics of my setup

Supplies aside from the fact that I used a pelican 1060 case instead of the waterproof case in the pic:

I use this with my Dragonfly. It's been pretty solid so far and don't worry about water with the case. I keep the battery box in the hull and run the wire out of the side of the console. I have the base mount mounted to the top of my console lid (Cuda).

I love those Raymarine units. If i decided to upgrade, that's what it will be to.

Also, for all you Lafayette guys, they just got a Blue Sky 360 on display at Pack & Paddle. Not sure if they are letting people demo it or not

Jackson had brought one to Beer and Gear a while back. Cool concept, but just not for me.

I’d love to see someone trying to pedal that in current around the shrimp nets at PAC

But it’s a cool layout if nothing else in some ponds or lakes

Which braid do y’all use and why?

I used to be a power pro 30# back in the day but stopped using it because of the wind knots... I thinking of easing back into it with one reel to see how it goes.

Have used this on most of my reels for years. I see a lot of people complain about winds knots, but I can't think of many instances of this happening.

I use Suffix 832 40lb on baitcasters, and Berkley Nanofil in varying sizes for spinning gear. 8 strand braid (like Suffix 832 and Power Pro Super Slick) casts and handles much better than 4 strand braid (regular PP). It also helps with wind knots.
