Masseys had the Waterports Shoreline at their booth for the Sportsman Show. Looked like a nice little kayak. I searched the google trying to find more info on it but no website, Fb page, reviews? All I read is that they allow their sellers to discount as they see fit. I found it odd but it looks good in person.

What do y'all think of the Garmin Striker 4?
I have seen a lot of people put them on their boats. It really depends on what you need your fish finder to do. If you are trying to mark fish, anything that small will be difficult, but if you just need it to give you the basics it should work fine. I have the Lowrance Hook2 4x and its pretty meh, but all I need it for is depth and water temp.
Humminbird also makes a Piranha model that is small like the Striker if you are looking for different options.

I'm really just looking for the basics, mostly depth, for my yak. I'm trying to keep with my "bang for the buck" theme
Do any of y'all have a recommendation for a battery for that thing?

I just got that one from my wife after asking for the PiranhaMax. Have not been out with it yet to review. Really wanted the scan of the Hummingbird, but I guess i am glad I have the GPS function of the Garmin. It's for the front of my Bay Boat, as I don't have a use for one on a kayak. I use the cabelas 12 volt battery.

How big is the battery? Trying to fit it in the center console if possible.

I think that might work. Don't mean to be a PITA, but do you have a link?
Also, what kind of battery life do you get on it?
Edit: never mind, I see you haven't taken it out yet

Cabelas battry
I have been using it for years. Only negative is, you have no idea how long to use that charger. So, I just monitor it with a tester as I charge it. Those little units can run a long time on one charge.

Talentcell Rechargeable 6000mAh Li-Ion Battery - $30.
It's flat and Li-Ion which makes it somewhat easier to deal with (fits in a Pelican 1060 case). Comes with a charger too. It gets me several days of use without needing to be recharged using the Raymarine Dragonfly 4 Pro that I have. I have my entire unit mounted on the Pelican case that holds the battery and it's all on tracs so I can remove it entirely when I want to and even transfer it between kayaks (or in my case my canoe) as long as it has a gear trac installed.

Those make for impressive yak explosions too.

I made a couple of wire leads and just hook it up to my 12v smart charger. As long as you keep it under 2 amps.

Will I damage it if I charge it for too long?

Why would they explode?

By nature, lithium-ion batteries are dangerous. Inside, the main line of defense against short circuiting is a thin and porous slip of polypropylene that keeps the electrodes from touching. If that separator is breached, the electrodes come in contact, and things get very hot very quickly. The batteries are also filled with a flammable electrolyte, one that can combust when it heats up, then really get going once oxygen hits it.

Anybody use the Hobie Trax scupper cart with beach wheels on their PA?
Need to get a cart and that one looks easy and convenient, but some reviews on ACK website talk about the welds on frame failing and cart snapping at the weld...but the negative reviews are all from around 2010-11. Not sure if Hobie fixed the problem in newer verisons and trying see what yall think of the cart quality. Or if anyone with a PA uses a different cart they'd recommend?

Will I have any issues if that battery gets wet?
