What kind of gun should I purchase? And from where? I was looking at Wal mart this morning at a 20 gauge.

First off, do you know anything about guns or ever fired/ handle one? Do you know what type of hunting you want to get it? Have you ever took a hunting safety course? Do you have a place to hunt?

You need to ask yourself these questions before buying a gun.

I have over 50 years in the woods and water, but I don't know shite. Hit my pond early and 4 bass,2 sacalait and 1 warmouth. All cought in about 20 mins.

I'm still fighting pond scum. Done treated it once about 2 weeks ago and the shite is coming back. Tomorrow I have to get more chemicals to bust that shite up.

Yes I've fired a gun. I have a handgun. I'm guessing I can't hunt with that right? It's a .45

I know a whole bunch of stuff but there us much more i dont know. I dont have the years of experience in the woods like some of these guys.

I would suggest getting north american hunter magazine and outdoor life as both cover a variety of topics and views. While you are at it ho ahead and get a NRA membership. Then go hunting with friends and family and ask lots of questions. Always make a point of learning something each outing. Personally i have tried to actually do stuff myself at. leastonce to learn the process.

I highly doubt it...middle of the pack at the minimum. I would call kayak fishing fairly outdoorsy and you seem to know what you are doing.

Lots of folks are going to have different ideas of what a knowledgeable outdoorsman constitutes. Probably means different things to people in Florida than it does to someone in Montana.

870 12ga 3" magnum, you hunt most anything with it, doesn't
cost too much and will not jam on you. You are welcome.

I am very knowledgeable about squatches if you need guidance before going into the woods.
