Yeah, going for another red-tail. I was thinking of trying for a male, but the closer the time gets, the more I think I'm just going to keep the fattest one, for its size, I can find. One that looks like it's been feeding itself very well.
Of the three choices apprentices can have, red-tails are by far the best birds for hunting. Kestrels are cool, but a sparrow is going to be about the height of your success with those. Almost nobody uses red-shouldered hawks. The general consensus seems to be that they're just not great falconry birds.

Never bow hunted. But had a cheap bow in high school. Loved shooting it. If I would have better property for deer I would bow hunt.

I was about to go out and shoot my bow, but the first rain we've had in a hundred years decided to come pouring in about the time I walked to the door. That's why I'm here bullshitting with you fellers.

I'm cooking a Pastalaya and drinking.
Love shooting a bow. Scared to get into it. Everyone says its addicting.

It can be, I suppose. I started bowhunting deer when I was 10 years old. I've hunted deer with a gun maybe 5 times in my life. I started out with a bow and just never really wanted to do anything else. But, I haven't hunted much in the past 15 years. College, wife, kid, work, money, etc. But, I'm getting back into it now, and plan to hunt a lot this year.

We have been known to have very intense beer drinking and bow shooting competitions at my current place of residence...

I can imagine.
The land I own sucks for bow hunting. Well deer hunting in general lately. But I'm going to start bow hunting one day. Alx talking about the WMA's sounds like a good place to bow hunt.

Saw your truck at Harvest yesterday. Or I think it was yours. Parked right next to me. Were probably buying beer like me.
