Anyone have any ideas of what flies to bring to Chandeleur for barrier island redfish next month?
Sz 1 hooks?

Would work but think larger. I normally throw 2/0 shrimp/mullet flies for bulls.

1/0 crabs or shrimp for smaller fish. 2/0 or 3/0 baitfish and/or poppers for bigger fish.

Just some 30-40lb test fluorocarbon line. I try and crush the end tip that i'll tie dow to make it flat. Some i loop others just stick a line straight out.
Does that answer it??
lol who downvotes a post like this?

I do the same. Others I tie in goalposts or loops.

I have a DIY Norfork trip scheduled for December 15 weekend. My brother lives in Fayetteville and has fished it a few times, so we arent going in completely blind.
He is going to get with his guide buddies for intel, but what are some key terminal items that I need to bring?
I have a 5wt and 8wt both with floating line. Do I need any form of sinking leader? What general leader and tippet sizes, etc?

There’s a lot to like in WYO, but the wind always blows and winter can come at anytime.

Runs into the White. Legendary for record trout in Arkansas.

5wt will be your best bet.
I’d have some olive whooly buggers size 10-14
Copper John sizes 14-18
Sow bug and or scud sizes 14-18
Various other attractors (hairs ear, pheasant tail) in the same sizes
May want a few lightening bugs (another attractor).
On the of chance you catch a hatch small elk hair caddie and a pale morning dun size 16-20. Best day I’ve ever had fishing in AR was a day that I caught and odd hatch of PMD. Can’t even tell you how many hmfuah I caught. Had people watching me I was catching so many and they didn’t have the right fly. I only had 3 and wasn’t about to share.
Tippets in size 3x down to 6x.
ETA 3 and 4 wts are my favorite in the Norfork.

It was fall break here in UT last weekend and we headed out to Eastern UT and Dinosaur National Monument. While we were there, we fished a small stream in that part of the world that I've never fished before.
Fall was in full swing and the colors were beautiful...
I tied on a pattern I call "the Super Beetle" (an homage to VW) for the kid, knowing it was late in the season for terrestrials. But it's big and visible. My wife asked me what he was fishing with and I told her, "I tied on a super beetle, but I'm not expecting him to do much with it. About that time, "GULP!!", the boy was the first to hit paydirt.
For once, dad caught the largest fish of the trip, a nice Colorado River Cutthroat.
Mom got in on the action too, but I don't have a picture of hers.
