TacSol X-Ring .22LR Takedown, worth it?

I've been kicking around the idea of building up another 10/22. Being one of the more customizable platforms I could just swap some parts on my old 10/22 but the takedown functionality intrigues me.
I came across the Tactical (read: tacti-cool) Solutions X-Ring Takedown. Pretty slick little rig tricked out with all kinds of custom parts made/milled in-house and seated nicely in a Magpul Backpacker stock. Then the sticker shock... Buy it now price on gunbroker averages north of $1K. Yes, $1,000 for a .22 (at least the ammo is cheap). All that being said, I'm still interested and think it would make a fun plinker for the camp, dispatching some hogs in the trap, and with the takedown capability it could even be packed in a backpack.
Am I crazy? Has anyone shot or handled one of these and can confirm/deny they are worth it? or Should I just stick with the ever-elusive standard Ruger 10/22 Takedown.
Last bit. Those Gemtech Mist-22 integrally suppressed barrels are also fine.
Link to specs.

I have one that I have been shooting in steel challenge for a year. It’s Light weight and swings really fast. The only time I have had a malfunction was due to some new mags I tried to shoot in it.
I have a holosun red dot on mine and it’s more accurate than I can be.

Did you mount on the receiver rail or do you have the forward mount over the barrel?

why not buy a browning auto .22 that tears down same as that? Cabelas has them for $599, use the left over money on a nice scope and tag squirrels till the end of time.

for one the Browning weights 5lbs 3ozs and the Tactical Solutions weights 3.7lbs. second I don't shoot squirrels with mine. third you have to have a detachable magazine for steel challenge.

I think they're cool, but not thousand dollar plus cool.
No matter how finely they machine everything, at the end of the day, it's still just a takedown .22LR. You're not going to make 400 yard shots with it.
I do have a 10/22 with a Magpul hunter stock, a Mist-22TD, and a Kidd trigger. I think that IS worth it. It gets me dead on out to 50 yards and is a small game killing machine. They don't know what hit them and, more importantly, their buddies don't either, so they don't scatter. You hear the bolt slam against the bolt stop pin and slam home then you hear the thwack of the bullet hitting the target. Basically, pull the bolt back and let it go and that's all the noise the rifle really makes. If you replace the bolt stop pin (the pin the bolt slams into to keep it from hitting the inside of the receiver as it recoils) with a hard rubber pin instead of the stock metal pin, it's even quieter.
That thing is just stupid fun to shoot. I've never handed it off to someone to pop off a few rounds that didn't immediately start smiling.
Ultimately, though, it's your cash and your hobby. If that thing is what you want, go for it and don't let our opinions stop you. I'd rather you buy something I wouldn't and be happy with it and actually shoot it than to buy something I like and have it be a safe queen.

This guy knows what's up.
The 1st .22 semi and still the best .22 semi.
And it breaks down.

Conversely you could get a Ruger takedown model 21133 and swap a Tac Sol x-ring takedown barrel into it. Seems like that model typically runs around $500, and the barrel $300, so you’d save a few hundred. I have an x-ring barrel in my non-takedown 10/22 and love it. It’s a tack driver and light as a feather.

TLDR: Kel-Tec CMR 30 is hard to beat fitting the above description.
I'd never call someone crazy for buying what they want so go for it.
Your quote above has me suggesting you bring a little more fun to the party. The Kel-Tec CMR 30. I have both the PMR 30 & CMR 30. The pistol version is so much fun to shoot the first time I shot it I knew I had to have another one and the CMR 30 too. The CMR 30 is slick as well and they use exactly the same mag. I don't compete so I have no idea how it compares to any of the others mentioned or the one you are interested in but the CMR/PMR combo is hard to beat. The rifle is 22 3/4" collapsed, weighs 3.8lb.

Define.... Shots.
Because nighttime silhouette shooting at max distance is pretty fun

"20 foot holdover" wasn't really what I was thinking of. The Army might classify that as "indirect fire".
Ain't gonna lie, though, Miculek ringing steel at 1000 yards with a 9mm was impressive with a holdover of something like 150 feet.

There is a guy on Instagram that has won the King of the 2 mile contest I think a couple of times or more.
ELR shooter. He’s shot his voodoo .22 out to 1000yds.
