Nope. They wanted everything that came standard on the rifle. Bolt, mag etc.

At least they honored the warranty. I never could get them to honor the warranty on a safe door I have . Lots of calls and promises of call backs. Nothing

I think that's the issue. Browning won't just accept the stock. They want the barrel and action to fit it to their standards. At least that's what I remember last time I looked into it.

If that's the case, just pull the scope/rings and send the gun in for warranty work. It should only take a few minutes to do that.

I don’t understand why a 3 year old rifle would have this problem, browning and all the gun manufacturers have known about the duracoat issue for a long time and have been exchanging the stocks for well over 3 years, why would they continue to put these guns on the shelves

I sent my Maxius in last year and they returned with new furniture in about a month

Boy, I would never send them the whole rifle if there was just a stock issue. Playing with fire there, when the alternative is backing out 2 screws.

browning requires you return the whole gun for a warranty replacement, so the alternative would be buying your own new stock...to each his own

Or camo duck tape. I will probably send mine back in a few months. Do the replacement stocks have any coating? Just composite?

A5 coating has same problem. Spots I hold regularly, forearm and grip are starting to come off pretty bad. Thought it was OFF on my hands causing the problem until I read about all the other people having same problem. Butt stock crumbled to bits as well.

Correct and you have to go thru the approval process etc again. Had to send one back and all I needed was the barrel, they sent new gun.

I don’t have a problem sending back the entire rifle. I’m an amateur gunsmith, and I’ve disassembled several firearms. I’ve had too many screw holes or pins not line up perfectly. I would rather have a factory gunsmith handle it, especially if it’s free. I’ll slap my scope back on, sight it in, and I’ll be ready to go.

The thing is that it’s not a warranty issue it’s a class action lawsuit over the defective Dura-Touch coating. I sent back 2 maxus shotguns back in November and got them back around 2nd or 3rd week in December. Pretty quick turnaround. If your in Baton Rouge you can bring them to Bowie without having to go online fill out anything they handle it all for $20 a gun.

Happened to my CVA apex that is about 10 years old. I just washed the sticky off with acetone.

What pins give you trouble on a bolt action rifle stock? What’s not free is when someone does something to the metal parts of your rifle. Best to keep that in your care, not UPS’s.

I haven’t had any trouble with pins on bolt action rifles. But I have had issues with pins on ARs. My point was I just didn’t want to F**k with and I’m not concerned about a factory gunsmith messing something up.

Id be more worried about the handlers of the package and slightly less about the near-minimum wage employee that will be swapping your stock out. It won’t be a gunsmith, though.
