I've decided to purchase prescription sunglasses and I am looking for some feedback. Any thoughts on the following brands:

Costa Del Mar (I've owned numerous pairs, some lasting longer than others)

Bajio Sunglasses

Revo Sunglasses (I've only owned one pair. Seem to hold up well)

Any other brands I should consider?

TIA

I have a couple of pairs of Bajio’s. The lenses are comparable to my Costa glasses. I will say the frames are kind of cheap feeling but they have held up fine. I’m sure they are made out of some environmental approved crap is why they feel cheap. That “leather” case they come with actually feels pretty good considering it is made out of cactus.

I priced out some Maui Jim's at the eye Dr last trip in.

$755 for one pair. It would ruin my life to own a $755 pair of sunglasses and leave them on a table at a restaurant or scratch them. I couldn't do it.

Zenni cheapos for $75 won out.

ETA- still use my non-Rx Costas fishing though.

I have owned all of the brands you mentioned, and have been pretty happy with all of them so I doubt you can go really wrong.

Bajio is what I buy now though. I have found them to be the best combination of quality and cost.

I've been thinking about getting smiths as my next pair. I like their snow goggles with chromapop lenses

I'm not super thrilled about spending this type of $$ for sunglasses, but I can't see anymore. My vision is going to shite.

Agreed, have unknown number of Smiths (a lot) floating around. My shooting glasses are Smith too. They're great.

Probably won't be as appealing to this board but I recently got a pair of Roka sunglasses (I think originally designed for runners), and they're my favorite everyday at this point.

Maui Jim. They’re worth the money.

Maybe for prescription. Most are $250-$350. Absolutely the best clarity and polarization I have ever seen. I used to be a Costa Del Mar die hard til I put on a pair of MJs. I have 5 pairs now. 6 if you count the ones that are off the coast of Amelia island on the bottom of the ocean. Maybe I’ll find them washed up this summer.

Had several pair of Costas over the years, was disappointed with the decline. Trying out Leupolds, so far, so good. I'm kind of liking them, they seemed light and felt cheap at first, but are handing the abuse so far.
