Hey guys,
I've always heard great things about Streamlight flashlights. I bought my first one last month, Model 6608 MicroStream. It's really bright for its small size. I like the two direction clip that allows it to be used like a handsfree headlight. Unfortunately, now it's broken as it only works in the "instant on" light mode; the "constant on" mode no longer works. I applied for service work on the Streamlight website, but it seems odd to pay $10 to securely ship a light that only cost $29. It's outside the Amazon free return period. The nearest factory. repair center is in Shreveport, one hour away and I don't go there very often. I don't see any good options. I wanted to send Streamlight an email, but I don't see a customer service email address. Guess I'm mainly venting here, but I thought someone might have an idea. Thanks for your time.

I've got three, two regular battery and one rechargeable. Haven't had a problem for the five years I've had them.

HaHa That's an option I've not thought of.

That's the kind of exceptional reliability I was expecting. This is an example of my lifelong history of "bad luck."

I have two complaints about my rechargeable stream light, the battery takes forever to charge, and the battery lasts so long I never think to recharge it till it’s dead when I need. I should probably just buy a spare and keep it charged in the bag or with it during the offseason.

OP, are you sure it’s broke and not one of the “ten tap” lights that got switched?

He is suggesting a swap-a-roo where you send the original purchase back since the new purchase will be the exact same light.

Are you sure?

I know it's just a simple light but... hide your Man Card for ten minutes and look the instructions up on the internet. I had the exact same issue with one of their lights and called customer service about sending it back. The guy walked me through some process and it turned out I had hit the button while it was in my pocket and put it into some mode that only allowed for temp on. I got it reset and felt stupid for callinng them and complaining.

Mine has been durable as hell. I’d swallow my pride and confirm it wasn’t a setting issue…… if that means reaching out to their customer service so be it.

Might be loose at the top, mine came loose and was doing something similar. The portion that you slide up to get to the charging port unscrews if you're applying pressure pulling while turning counter clockwise. Visa versa will screw it back on. It keeps spinning clockwise even after being all the way tightened fyi.

Where you located? Not that I get out much, but If I get by there I'd be glad to drop it off.

Right? Theft for a sub-$30 flashlight? Either call customer service or just get another one.

That's what I tried to do, but they don't have a Customer Service email nor a chat line. The toll free CS number was closed at the time of night I was working on it.

Thanks for your generous offer, but I'm nearly in AR.

Thx for the suggestions and the offered help, guys. Late last night I was looking at reviews of similar micro-sized flashlights on Amazon, some of which included my Streamlight. I didn't know the battery could be removed, thinking it integral to the flashlight. I took the flashlight apart, scratched up the terminals of the battery and reassembled. VOILA, it works again. Makes me wonder if it was a problem w/ the settings that was reset by removing the battery. Of course, last night I ordered a replacement from Amazon using a different manufacturer.
