How can I get my Virginia Buttonweed to spread?
Spray it once in early spring, and then just assume it's all dead and gone. Voila! Come June that shite will be everywhere.

Keep fighting the fight against VB. I did and now my back yard looks like a nuclear wasteland. Nothing grows.

I spot spray that shite with roundup. Over time, you can win. If I'm able to bring its blades together and spray em while I'm holding them...trying my best to eliminate collateral damage.
Works great. Theres also a yolo that you stick in and twist and it uproot it..works good as qell
I've given a lot of thought to it. I'm purchased some sehtoxydim and will hit it this weekend if it stays dry. Hopefully that will knock it back some, because it's too thick to even think about spot spraying right now. In the back yard, I'll start spot spraying each time I mow, but that's not really an option in the front.
In the front, I'm going to go OCD and brush individual shoots and hopefully start making progress. I'm afraid to see what that section looks like when the torpedograss dies back, because the centipede is struggling bad. Maybe a week or two after the sethoxydim, I'll spread some fresh centipede seed and hope it fills back in.
If all else fails, I'm going to say frick the HOA covenants and plant some zoysia in the front section.

That's what I did. All of the labels say don't apply if the temperature is going to be over 85-degrees.
I think I have decided to wait until the fall. I don't want to resod my lawn just yet.

Can anyone recommend a Fall and Spring pre-emergent that will control the following weeds? I've never used a pre-emergent before. I have tried multiple treatments with 2,4D/Quinclorac and the weeds are just outdoing me. I want to do a pre-e this Fall and Spring.
Crabgrass
Goosegrass
Poa
Henbit
Chickweed
Oxalis
Pigweed
spotted spurge (Euphorbia maculata)
Bermuda up front, Tall fescue in the back.
Is there 1 product I can use to kill all these? Or will I need multiple products?

Can anyone tell me what is going on with my grass? Some kind of fungus?

Can anyone ID this grass for me? This is sod that was laid today. I close on my house on the 29th. Depending on what type of grass it is, any recommendations for immediate treatment?

Indy, I don't see much grass, just lespedeza
and what looks to be root rot from the recent steady rains. Hard to tell though.
PT, looks like centipede. St Aug is a broader leaf without a strong taper to the blade.

I have a ton of nutgrass in my flowerbed and it's getting to be a pain trying to keep pulling them one by one...could I spray sedgehammer or some other nutgrass killer in there without harming the plants?
Posted on 6/25/18 at 4:10 pm to RedBeardBaw
Depends what plants you have in there.
Annual, seasonal colors and some herbaceous perennials are susceptible to kill.
If it's bushes and shite, go for it. Boxwood, gardenia, azaleas, all OK.
Read the label.

That's what I was hoping to hear...I have wintergreen boxwoods, dwarf azaleas, knockout roses and a couple sweet olive trees. No annuals in there yet.

Go for it.
ETA That's for Sedgehammer. There are other products, but always read the label. It will normally tell you what turf, ornamentals and trees are OK to apply to.

I'm pretty sure I put out too much weed and feed...and killed my grass. Very large patches of all brown in my front yard. Is there anything I can do during this time of year to help my grass?

I think I have over fertilized also... not sure tho..
Only the ST. Aug is affected.. the centipede is fine

Anyone know what this very small clover looking species is and what will kill it?

Thought I hit the jackpot on cheap Hi-yield Grass Killer at the local hardware store, but it was hi-yield weed and grass killer and none of the available optioned had the same active ingredient.
