Something enjoyable you've done lately

We are friends with a really nice couple from the Philippines and recently they mentioned they've never held or shot a firearm.
So we talked them into coming over to the house and I loaded a wheelbarrow up full of various caliber weapons and we went to the hill and had them shoot some targets.
It was hilarious watching them go from looking like I was rolling out a wheelbarrow full of poisonous snakes to gaining more and more confidence as we worked our way up the caliber scale.
I feel my job here is done. Now all the husband does when they come over is ask me questions about what he should get for home defense and whether he should take a class and get a concealed permit.

Took my two young boys for a spur of the moment fishing trip and got on a non stop speck bite. Came back with our limit in 2 hours. Took plenty of pictures because it rarely happens like that for us. Hopefully they will remember it as I know I will.

I took my two nieces to run jug and limb lines. They aren't really that big in to fishing and looked bored as all hell at first. After we chased a couple of jugs they were more excited than I'd ever seen them. There wasn't enough down time for them to get bored. Took about 1.5 hours to get everything in.

Caught a handful of 1-2lb redfish off the bank with my 7yo daughter a couple of weeks ago. She had a blast and asks me to go everyday now. Shes got the bug now.

A Fuente Hemingway on the back porch during vacation. Doing it as we speak.

Just visited friends in Arkansas and rode the Wolf Pen Gap trails on their side by side. Never ridden in one before. Was very enjoyable mornings. Dusty though.

Acreage + ATV trails is one of life's finest pleasures

Last Wednesday took the 5yr old on an after school boat ride. Ended up getting into a decent mess of bluegill. He thought we were just fishing...
Today is his last day of kindergarten, and he's my only child. Trying to take it all in.... time is flying.

What size shoe is that boy wearing
Taught two clients how to cast and catch a couple days ago. Both mid 20's and raised in Houston proper, never fished before. Their faces would light up when that cork went under.

If that kid is in kindergarten you going to have to plant some crops to help keep him fed when he's a teenager.

My wife now goes to the range and to play golf way more than me. I'm winning in the woods though!

Picked up a new deer lease over the weekend about 30min from the house that is going to be fantastic (in one of GA's historically big deer counties). 400ac with a 3br cabin overlooking a 10ac lake. Only drawback is I won't have turkey rights, but for the price and location, I feel like I stole it. Hope to be able to hang on to it for many years.

We got a RV spot in Grand Isle for the summer, I'm really looking forward to doing some fishing but mostly have enjoyed spending time with family and watching how much my 3 year old little girl has enjoyed it. We've played in the sand, flew kites, rode the SxS on the beach, went to the big weigh in at Hurricane Hole a couple weeks ago, got snowballs, etc etc. Last time out I ordered some seashells from Amazon and as we walked down the beach I'd pitch them out for her to "find", she didn't catch me and it was great to just see her excitement. She doesn't care that it's not 30A and ask every couple days when are we going back.

My kids are older now. Daughter in college and son will be in the fall.
I try to spend as much time as I can at our land/farm. I have been planting fields for dove. I have a little over an acre planted right now and plan to have around 5 acres planted. Also planted an area with watermelons and will plant pumpkins in a month or so.
Working out there is relaxing to me. It's not terribly hard work but I have a fairly stressful desk job and working out there helps me to ease the stress.
I love it.

Crazy how turning dirt and putting seed/fertilizer in the ground can be a good stress reliever

Have a 7-year old. Decided to drop the boat in the water and just take a long run with him at Lake Sommerville. Water was dead calm. Let him get in front of me and drive the boat.
Reminded me of running around with my dad in a 16 foot aluminum with 25hp Johnson with tiller.
