I like that.

Do people even read first posts anymore?

Guess I'll be the first to say a big Costa sticker, a Salt Life poster, and a Yeti cooler.

I'm thinking you should go wider than 15' if you can.
36'x15' is a good bit of area, but 15' is kind of narrow.
Unless there's some big time reason you can't go wider, I'd go at least 20' wide, if not more.
My shed is 24' x 30', they fill up fast, believe me.

Well there's a slab on my lot already that is of those dimensions. My builder said it would be cost efficient to put something on it. He quoted about $4500 to remove it. I wanted the workshop anyway.

build it either 16 wide or 24 not 15
floor drains, 1/2 bath shower, lift, floor mop style sink, epoxy the concrete, alarm, whores. put the compressor in a closet, i would put a few floor outlets in the middle of the slab, i hate extension cords everywhere. i would run my dust collection under the slab just make sure you ground it its simple. shitter, would not do many if any windows.

Make it 30' wide, and leave half open on the outside to pull your tractor, 4wheeler, boats, etc. You will get a lot better use out of that 15' slab that way.

If the slab is in a good location for your shed I definitely wouldn't remove it.
36'x15' is a decent area, but you may find it hard to move things around, if you need to.
I assume you were putting a garage door.
Maybe think about two garage doors on different walls.

At 15' wide, you will likely find that to be very narrow after a short amount of use. I would put large barn doors or garage doors on one side so you can open the whole side to gain access in and out.
I like a also use my shop to cut up and process meat. Floor drains are nice but if slab is poured already that's not going to happen. No matter how many outlets you think you need add more.

Why don't you add more concrete next to the slab to get the size you want?
Posted on 8/8/14 at 9:17 pm to eng08
The size is fine for me,
It's actually much bigger than I ever imagined having so I'm fine with it. I have other plans for the area around the slab, so making it bigger isn't happening.

You'll wish you had more room. My garage at the new house is 40X20. I never thought I would fill it. I've been here less than two months and it's full.

Look at putting a lean-to overhang on one side, at least 12' wide
And tall walls on the building.

building a 26x40 toyport as we speak so the triple garage can be emptied of those space occupying toys and make more room for my stuff.
