Guys in houseboat next door had a bunch of deck boards stacked up, they started the walkway before bama game and found the motherload. I heard that guy screaming went out and he they were between him and the barge, poor sob didn't know what to do.

What do you mean they? Like how many snakes are we talking?

Haha. Good point. I walked right into that one.

Next time you purchase your snake license with your big game license or start stocking your freezer with snake meat, do let me know. It just amazes me some of the fear and ignorance concerning the outdoors from a bunch of supposed outdoorsmen. I guess that's more to the point.

Everyone has a fear of something. And most, if not all of them, are irrational

I don't have an irrational fear of them. I only kill the dangerous ones except when the water snakes look like moccasins. But when that big boy there slithered under the ladder, I wasn't gonna walk back to the camp and hope he had cleared my path.

ETA: living in a neighborhood surrounded by cane fields, I try to keep the water snakes alive to keep the mice out

Wasn't intended to be an internet battle, but since you decided to jump in...just ask your mom/wife/sister/daughter (whichever one is most appropriate) on how big and manly I am.

Anywho...most snake bites are due to people, trained or untrained, trying to handle snakes.

Wait, so having some irrational fear makes you somewhat less of an outdoorsman?

Heights?
Snakes?
Spiders?
Deep water
Darkness?

Pa in law just got this one a few minutes ago just out of Carthage, TX. 8 rattles and a button.

Crawling around the trucks on a well pad when he parked.
