Caught the reds in Oak River?...
Went last Thursday after that big front. Fished up and down oak river and didn't get a bump. Water looked like Yoohoo though and surface temp was reading 40 deg. We dropped the boat off and drove to the drawbridge in Yscloskey and tore up the redfish on side of the road to salvage the trip. ...
Yup. Gotta be really careful when leaving tin lizzies. Killian, Troop and LPSO frequent that area....
Think birdman said don't wrap the duck in paper. Put it's head under the wing or lay it on it's back, then put it in a plastic bag.
This is what I did. Tucked the head and triple wrapped in plastic. Plan on getting it in soon though. I looked through some of the Pearl River guy's ...

I know a wait period always comes with getting a mount. But a year for a duck? Foolish....

Taxidermy recommendations for ducks

Posted by BigBusa on 1/12/14 at 12:18 pm
Just shot my first wood duck, a very pretty drake, and I want to get him mounted. Checked with a local place here in Hammond and he told me $325 and 12 months. That's too much and too long for me so I figured I'd ask the OB who their go to guys were. Here's an obligatory pic of the duck:[img]http://...
Thanks. I've heard the same, sometimes they use plastics and sometimes dead shrimp on the bottom. I may run out there one day son just to check it out. Although it's not my forte, I enjoy fishing for bass too. I've seen you post in the past about bassing in manchac which I'd like to learn about a...
Once you go once, and mess with that group of boats at the mouth of the pass, you won't go back. It makes the groups of guys chasing birds in Vermillion Bay in October look like southern freaking gentlemen.
I've heard of the crowds there, but I fish the Lake P trestle in the spring...
That's a huuuge bitch!...
Can anyone give me some advice on fishing this area? I hear that the trout move through there seasonally and would like to get in on the action. It's too close to my house to not give it a try. I know where it's at and how to get there but would like advice on what the conditions need to be in order...
Yeah, this guy was moving very slow as well. That front that came through last week dropped the temp into the high 40's where I was hunting and the winds were howling. Needless to say I was shocked when he came crawling out of a brush pile....
I'm trying, bro ham. Ain't working for some reason....

Snakes still out and about in November

Was on an evening hunt last week and saw this guy a few feet from the stand. No, I didn't get a chance to kill him. There weren't any good clubbing sticks lying around and I wasn't about to ruin the hunt by shooting him with the 7mag. I was about 12ft. up in a quad pod and it stilled rustled my jimm...

I would, but I don't have the diesel to drive to BSL then trailer down to Delacroix tomorrow. An OT baller I am not ...
