Snake bite gear recommendations?

What do you baws recommend for snake bite gear? Boots/pants/leggings/chaps?
I see that there are all sorts of gear in this category but it's really difficult to figure out which ones are really effective and not overly uncomfortable. In my case, I have ruled out snake boots -- I'll wear some tall leather boots with steel toes. However, that still leaves a lot of unprotected area that I need to protect somehow.

Why have you ruled them out? My lacrosse square toe snake boots are just as comfortable as my ariat work boots and I wear them 100% of the time until it’s to cold and I need insulated boots.
I have some brush buster snake chaps but hardly ever wore them for snake protection and more for briars just because they are so bulky and hot, double front carhartts and snake boots is all I wear for briars and snakes now.

I have some Rattler's brand snake chaps that I wear, but fortunately I have not had to figure out if they work or not.

This isn't anything I have ever thought about. What activities are these needed for?

Ok, thanks! Maybe I ruled out snake boots too soon! I'll reconsider now.

In my case, it's for walking around in woods and tall brush where rattlesnakes are common.

Definitely following I do alot of bank fishing and have to walk through alot of tall grass and snakes have been everywhere lately

Not sure why you'd rule them out because my recommendation as someone who's done quite a bit of hunting in Texas snake country would be snake boots.

I encourage you to do whatever makes you comfortable. I also encourage you to look up snake bite statistics. It's more likely that something like a lightning strike or monkey attack happens than a bite from a venomous snake.

Agree with the minute chance of occurrence camp. Wear comfortable shoes/boots and don't live in fear.

I wear turtle skin snake leggings. They are light weight and breathable. I like them so far. They also make full length chaps, if you need extra coverage.

Chippewa snake boots. Comfortable as any boot you’ll find.

Also in the rare instances where someone is bitten on a lower extremity the majority of the bites are at ankle level, regular over the ankle height work/ hiking boots are more than adequate.
