A nice pot of chili. The Cajun power starter is really good. Sauté meat, onion and bell pepper. Season it with a little Tony’s and chili powder. Add water or stock. Simmer for a while and serve. A frito pie is a great camp dinner .

You got a couple of downvotes but I think a good potato soup is hard to beat. Especially if you put some steak in it.

I've done this many times with leftover spuds from steak night.

Also a big fan of venison vegetable soup. I really don't follow a recipe. I brown the meat, remove add some tomato paste and onions and brown a little deglaze with wine or beer. Throw in crockpot with root veggies, celery, can of rotel and combo of stock and V8. Add the rest of the veggies that afternoon.

On one of the first duck camp dinners they made a white bean and kale soup, I made it and it was pretty damn good. I also like a good potato soup and a shrimp and corn soup.

I’m going to bring this up to my buddies next trip and see what their reaction is. I’ll try to keep a straight face. They’ll all probably tell me to frick off

Round this time of year when it finally starts getting cold, I’ll make a chicken and dumplings. I also add the bags of mixed veggies to it (peas, carrots, corn). Spice it up, not just salt and black pepper. They wipe it out. Something different.

When my fresh kale comes in in the garden this is the first thing I make. Very good soup that is easy to make.
