Several questions about state gun laws from someone with zero experience

I apologize in advance if these are dumb questions.

I know there is a shortage of guns and ammo across the country. Is there a state where supply has been less affected?

After moving to a new state, is there a waiting period before a new resident is allowed to purchase a gun? If so, which state has the shortest waiting period?

If you were to move somewhere based on gun laws, which state would you move to?

I appreciate the help. Thank you.

Are you really thinking about moving to another state to buy gun(s)?

As to which states are less affected, I hear that Indiana and Ohio have ammo and guns. I don’t know if that is accurate though.

To buy a gun you have to have a current drivers license.

A long gun you can buy across state lines.
A pistol you can not.
I don’t know if it is still the case but there use to be a rule that if you buy a long gun across state lines the states had to share a border.

Normally I would say no need to apologize ... but I won't

No

Just until you can get a license

If you were to move somewhere based on gun laws, which state would you move to?

I got blocked yesterday trying to buy a lower in Kentucky, where I live now. I moved from Alabama last month and do not have a Kentucky proof of residency. The ATF considers a lower a pistol and not a long gun.

At the store I shipped my lower to they told me that I need one of a state issued ID, voter registration, military orders AND have resided in the state for 90 days.
