Went deer hunting yesterday afternoon at my spot in Morrow. Still a large concentration of ducks and geese. I took a video of about 1000 ducks flying in to roost. No deer seen however.

A lot of the blinds on the coast are going to be high and dry. Buddy in bayou black said all the houseboats are sitting on the bottom.

Said birds were everywhere but its a lot of spoonies.

I'm hoping all the spoonies are on your side and all of the big ducks are on ours.

After the first split, you should be thankful even if its only scaup on your side.

I have family all in that area and they have smashed the ducks this year. Just south of Lake Village has been on fire all along Hwy 65.

Maybe so more towards Eudora but I have a place off 144 and it's been very slow as have all the farms I have talked to in the area. The opener was ok and there have been plenty of Specks but ducks haven't been in the area much at all. I know it's been a little better up towards McGhee but this has definitely been far below average for the first 15 or so days of duck season.

We are a second half team. We like to coast through the first half and turn it on in crunch time.

Only ducks I've seen in SWLA are in the Lacassine Refuge.

Zero ducks in the rice fields. A few big bunches of snows around Thornwell.

The ducks Larry reported South of there will scatter out and turn nocturnal or raft up.

You'll probably kill a few specks close to the snows until all the new young ones are shot.

Must not be much of a buddy if you don't trust his report.
