I really like my CZ75 and it is a great gun to have. Look into a STI Spartan or Trojan in 9mm also.

I have been on the same kick with kimbers for a few years now. Done a lot of research and I keep going back to this particular pistol. I will own it by Christmas. They are some nice looking pistols that's for sure. I've shot a few different ones and haven't had any issues, so I'm going to give them my business.
This one is a custom tactical 2 hd btw. The eclipse is also a badass looking pistol.

Be sure and bump this thread whichever you decide to buy along with a range report.

Has no one challenged that yet?

Springfield - I rarely see malfunctions. Get one with "NM" in the serial number. Those had final fitting done in the US

the other alternative is a cz75 9mm, but i just love the aesthetics of the kimber.

two of my favorite firearms, right there

i have a cz75 PO1 SDP, cz75 PO1, RAMI, kimber ultra, pro carry, raptor and two solo (my new solo with the kimber diamond finish is probably my new favorite gun

it is by far the most accurate short barreled pistol for me

At one time Kimber was a great 1911, when they were one of the few doing them. But now there QC has gone down hill. I would Go Springfield, STI, and Colt over them all day.

Probably the XSE for Colt...

The original 1911 design calls for some slide / frame play for reliability purposes. Barrel to bushing fit is much more important for accuracy.

I do own an all American Springer, I own a Kimber and I own a Springer micro
1911s were designed to feed ball ammo, no one ever mentions their ammo, its always the gun.

Make sure it has a ramped barrel. Might as well do it right.

If I were in the market for another 1911 then I would be looking exclusively at Colt and only Colt.

There is nothing wrong with kimbers, people saying their QC has gone down are referring to their pistols made between 2004-09. I'll agree they were crap then. They tighten up their lines big time.

As for a 9mm 1911, I've shot a ton of reliable 9mm 1911s and I happen to own a not reliable 9mm 1911. Although that is most likely due to brand, llama.
