Any buyer remorse...maybe thinking you could have spent the money on another gun(s).

Also, I see where Gunbroker has the 17 for about $2,800 - I'm new to buying guns online (pardon my ignorance). I know I'll pay shipping + a fee to a licensed dealer, but do I pay LA state tax? Any other fees?

Is it worth it? That's up to you. Is it an awesome gun? Absolutely. IF you like a semi auto 308 then it's one of the baddest ones out there, but most hunters would rather get a really nice bolt gun with glass for $2,800.00. Where the SCAR you are in $2,800.00 with no glass.

I shot one this past weekend and I've now made my mind up that it's going to be my next rifle purchase. It just seems the prices are pretty high lately so I may wait to see if they come down.

No sales tax unless the seller is also in your state.

As to wether or not on buying....they are great guns, no one doubts that. Most people that have the money to blow on one don't have buyers remorse because they have the funds to do so. If you are scrapping together pennies to make it work, you can get a .308 semi automatic for cheaper than that with an AR-10

I'm not familiar with the SCAR so I guess I don't get the infatuation. Are they supposed to be superior to the AR platform?

Exactly. Shot my buddy's SCAR 16, and I can't get my mind off of it. Just been in the market for a semi-auto .308.

I'm not. I just like allocating my money to it's max potential. I have a dollar figure in mind on what I want to spend at the moment. So...gun, or gunS...? Pretty much where I'm at.

what are you wanting to do with it?

It's a great rifle, as I understand it. I have looked at and played with one but i've never shot one.

For a good bit less than that price I built an AR-10. 24" Blackhole Weaponry Barrel, Magpul PRS stock, Midwest Industries handguard, and Meopta 4/5-14x50 scope.

I can cover 5 holes at 100yds with a quarter with it.

Call of Duty probably. There are better ways to spend almost 3 grand to sling 7.62 NATO than a SCAR. AR10, M1A come to mind.

Don't run it suppressed and if you do make sure you don't tell fn.

Theyve been voiding warranties.

I'm sure they're badass guns. But the big fish tail stock ruins the appeal for me

Buy both of these and still spend less money than a SCAR. Myself a M1A is just a little bit cooler than the SCAR and a helluva lot better looking rifle

I would spend so much an a SCAR to upgrade that it wouldn't even be worth it at that point. I suggest something else. GAP10 is like the same price and is pretty much perfect.

Carried one on a deployment. There is better ways to spend your money on rifles in my opinion. I like the weapon but no way in hell I would apend almost 3 grand on that thing.
