Mostly because I've never done it before. as stupid as it sounds, the idea of buying something on the internet, where my purchases can be tracked, and then having to pick it up somewhere else just seems ridiculous.b also, like the idea of purchasing from somewhere local where, as someone new to semi-autos, I could get a little advice...

chances are there will be no waiting period. have you gotten delayed on checks in the past? just make the drive, get educated, and leave with gun, or worst case, return in 3 days for it

Yep that sounds stupid, any firearm you purchase through a dealer is tracked.
