I'll tell her that next time we shoot.. The issue is it seems to throw every other round super low. Granted this is a new gun, but I've found it to be a bit off than what I'm used to. I told her that if anything some dude that attempts to attack you will end up getting his dick shot off.

My wife carries the 2.0 and I've found it to be wildly inaccurate so the extra rds maybe needed. Also, It has misfired a couple times in practice and that is problematic.

That gun would definitely be an outlier.

Sorry it’s not performing as good as mine. My shields and M&P 2.0s all work flawlessly. I’ve put a ton of ammo thru them and they’ve never not cycled or been off target.

But I put the accuracy squarely on the shooter Lulz.

Where did my post say that I carried an extra mag.

You shouldn't carry anything more dangerous than a spork.

Well to be fair.. I've only run a 100rds thru it.. Gonna break it down this weekend give it a good once over then shoot it some more.. If I see no improvement I'll report back..

It may need to loosen up some, but I've never seen an M&P that didn't run well out of the box. If you get a big enough sample size you'll eventually run across something way outside the bell curve. Somewhere there's a Glock that jams, somewhere there's Kimber that runs flawlessly.

I overlooked this the first time I read your post. Now that I see it...

Also...

Somewhere there's a Glock that jams

6 or so months back, I was at our range shooting early before a shift and another range officer was also doing the same. He was about 4-5 bays down running some rounds through a Glock. I was paused, reloading some mags and suddenly heard an odd sounding shot, then the clank of metal hitting the concrete, then him saying "well...shite!". I look over and he's inspecting the frame that's still in his hand and his hand as well and then I see the barrel/slide assembly on the ground about 5ft behind him.

The barrel failed and cracked near the ejection port and blew the entire upper off, past his ear and onto the gound behind him. He was shooting reloads so he chalked it up to either a double powder load or a powderless load that caused a squib in the round before, but neither of us hear a squib on the prior shot. A few days later I talked to him and he said there was no squib nor any signs on the case of the bullet of a double load. The barrel just failed and split.

From low end to high end. There's always a possibility of failures.

Just shot the Shield plus. Rented it at a range.

I carry a shield already as my everyday carry.

The trigger is definitely an improvement. The increased grip width is noticeable if you are used to a regular shield. But the difference is negligible and you forget it’s there after a minute.

Next opportunity I get I’m going to upgrade my shield to the plus. I’m already used to shooting it and now it has double the capacity.

I guess I'll have to look at one in person, but from the dimensions I'm seeing it looks like they split the difference between the Shield and a regular M&P on width. All the reviews kept saying "it's just as thin", then I see the measurements and it doesn't seem to be. I've already got a Shield and a 1.0 compact, to this may not be worth it for me.

Surprised it doesn't have an optic cut.

It's confirmed they will have a model with that option

Surely it's been brought up but in order to get the optics ready version, you have to get the Performance Center version and the 4" barrel.

Sorry, but the new 2.0 Compact is optics ready, same size barrel and 15rds. Oh, and cheaper.

I'm most interest in seeing how that flat-face trigger is going to be. I'm a flat-face trigger fan and looking forward to it.

Nahhhh that's not a flat trigger... Apex has a damn good true flat trigger for it.

It's not completely flat, no, but it's much flatter than the OG and 2.0 Shield, for sure. Looking forward to shooting it.

frick a S&W semi auto. Much much better options. Revolvers are good to go though.

I'm thinking she's anticipating every shot and pulling the slide down before the trigger breaks. I would be very surprised that a gun with a 3" barrel would drop rounds that low to affect accuracy within 15 feet or so. Even if the bullet came out of the gun unstabilized it would still likely hit center-of-mass even if it keyholed.

What do you mean by misfire? Are you saying the firing pin is not detonating the primer to set off the round? Or was there a failure to feed? Make sure she's using a proper grip and not tea-cupping. Smaller guns have a greater tendency to malfunction without a solid foundation to cycle the slide.

Been teaching CC for about 8 years and I've seen these issues a lot.

In case you weren't aware, this is 2021, not 1991. S&W has been a competitive option with semi autos for quite some time. I own 5 M&Ps and can't remember having issues with any of them.
