Does the new version have a 3 mile long trigger pull like the old one?

No, that's not the problem. The spring is just a bitch in the 12 round mag.

My Shield Plus mags were not as difficult.

No

It's very crisp. Short distance to the wall. Very short reset. It's very good!

That's good news because the trigger on the old Bodyguard has to be the worst one I've ever come across. You pull and pull and think there's something wrong with the gun and then eventually it fires. I'm not sure why anyone would choose that as their carry.

How to envision the BG 2.0:

Forget everything about the BG 1.0.

Now, you have a better idea about the BG 2.0.

Bumping this for updates.

Was planning on upgrading my lcp2 to a max, but seems the reviews on the bodyguard 2.0 is besting the lcp max by a wide margin.

I’m seeing a ton of problems people are having with it on the Smith & Wesson subreddit

the FB group is bitching nonstop...

But that's what reddit and Facebook are good at.

The professional reviewers sure like it.

Ever looked at theme Sig p238 or p938?

I have a 938 Legion and it’s a sweet little gun. I will say that I polished the hammer on it to make the trigger a little lighter and a touch more crisp.

Honestly, they should have simply called it the Shield Micro.

LCP Max is good, but the BG 2.0 is simply better.

I have the OG Shield and the dimensions, especially the weight, for the Bodyguard 2.0 are significantly better

Here's the best comparison site I've ever seen

Yeah, I'd still take the BG 2.0.

I'm honestly not a Sig fan. I don't dislike them as a company or think badly of their firearms. I'm just not really into them.

Yes, I agree. I have the 2 0 Shield in 40 S&W and the Shield Plus in 9mm. Yes, the BG 2.0 is much lighter and has a capacity that outshines the OG Shield and rivals the Plus, honestly.

Were you responding about my suggestion that the BG 2.0 should have been called the Shield Micro? I was only making the point that the BG 2.0 doesn't look anything like the 1.0. It resembles a much smaller and lighter Shield.

I use this site constantly to compare handguns. It's quite useful!

Having put a couple of hundred rounds through the P365 .380. the Bodyguard 2.0, and the Ruger Security .380, I went with the Security .380 and it wasn't really a close decision.

Yes the Security .380 is a 1/2" taller and 1" longer, but if I'm gonna carry a .380, I'm gonna carry the most accurate one I can get my hands on.

I'm a fairly slim guy and I can carry the Security with ease but more importantly I can hit what I aim at and get back on target quicker. I can also up my capacity to 15 rounds with the Ruger.

I'm enjoying mine. I bought a G and G wallet holster and it fits right in my back pocket.

Smith is really on top of their game these days.

To each his own, but I dismissed the Ruger fairly quickly. I'm not carrying a gun that size chambered in 380. I'd have to go with 9mm at that size.

Also, the BG 2.0 is extremely accurate for a self defense near-pocket pistol. From 21 ft, I hit the center 3" target 47/50 times during my last time at the range with the BG 2.0. You can't ask for much more than that.

In that size pistol the only requirement I have is for it to fire and cycle, I loved the size and really liked a trigger that was a safety on its own. The 2 originals I had did not meet that requirement. Hope the 2.0 is better, but with the 365,938, g42,g43 that have worked flawless for me I'm hard pressed to give anything short of a completely different design a shot in a bodyguard. If it is completely different i agree they would have been better off calling it a shield micro.

Let me sum it up like this: Remember the BG 1.0? Yeah, that gun has nothing to do with the BG 2.0. Nothing.

Seriously.

It's an incredible handgun for what it is.
