Looking for a sandal that's good for outdoor activities (fishing, casual hiking, slugging through mud at Jazzfest, etc).
Want something that'll stay on my feet and won't get water-logged.

Before I go off and drop $100 on a pair of Chacos, are there any alternatives that are worth looking at?

TIA

I've been wearing Tevas for years, but I would never wear them hiking. Wear proper hiking shoes to protect against critters, brush and snakes, and snakes and snakes.

Been wearing Teva Dozier for the last several years since AlxTgr recommended them.
I freaking love them. Have 3 pairs. Wear them everywhere, even to church.
They last forever.
You can find them on e-Bay reasonably priced.

Keen or Merrell, both make a sandal that you can get wet and remain comfortable.

Forget the down vote. You will love them.
If you got the leather ones and they get soaked they may smell. Just put them in a plastic bag and leave them in the freezer over night. That will work on any leather shoes or boots.

Sperry Santa Cruz 2, best sandals I've ever owned. 4+ years still going strong and seem to get more comfortable each time. Might be tough to find them though, haven't checked in a while.

God those are ugly.

Also, it is obligatory that I warn you: chacos will repel pussy.
