Well, you can't prepare for every single situation. Even if you carry a full size gun that holds 17 rounds, 17 rounds won't ALWAYS be sufficient. I think 7 rounds is PLENTY. Besides, you can always carry an extra magazine.

You are absolutely correct about this. I don't carry a full size gun but with 1 extra magazine I often have 30 rounds on me. Makes me feel comfortable.

I wear khakis and a polo 90% of the time. I have to have a small gun that can be concealed in this scenario. I have been carrying a BG380 in my pocket but a) wanted something more powerful for myself and b) wanted my wife to carry so I gave it to her. If I have to use my weapon at my place of business, I promise, 7 rounds will be plenty.
My carry weapon is not my home defense weapon.

Completely understandable. You do what you can so long as you know that you would approach a situation a little bit different than if you had a bunch of rounds at your disposal.

Of course. My preferred carry weapon would be an M4, but unfortunately, that's not practical.

This sums it up very well. If I could have my ACR or my 870, I would.
But obviously, the appeal of handguns is for compactness. There's a tradeoff. This goes even farther into the power scale the smaller the gun gets. But the smaller it gets, the better your chances of having it on you are.
For my carry gun, if I'm making a short walk into a gas station, my Kahr CM9 in a jacket pocket with 6+1 is enough for me as a "get off me" gun. If I feel I will be out for a longer time, my Ruger SR9c with either 10+1 or 17+1 will be on me depending on a number of things.
But in general, a CC is a "get off me" gun. And I would always prefer to have more rounds on me, but sometimes I'm not dressed to carry 18 rounds.

You need a gun for "get off me?"

You're seriously armed to the hilt. Do what you want, brother. I wish I could carry that comfortably.

I read that as "get me off" gun. Definitely wouldn't be watching your next video.

You'll never convince some of the "experts."
Apparently they carry the latest tiny, cute, hot, sweet, sexy, bad-arse, gun that they "love" -- while wearing Speedo bathing suits and small white wife-beater shirts.
My CCW weapon holds 18, plus a 16 round spare mag. (I occasionally carry a Shield w/ 8 rounds, as a BUG, instead of the 16 round spare mag).
Carrying concealed actually requires me to dress around the gun. According the the "experts" it's incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to do this. Fortunately I began carrying concealed, and had done so for many years (packing everywhere it is legal to do so) before I found out how difficult it is.
The guys who can shoot 7 rounds at the range are fun to watch when they show up at a competition ---- or at a two-day or three-day training class and shoot 1000-1200 rounds..

Do you not realize how foolish you sound? Does someone have to carry a full-size gun for you to take them seriously? If so, then you are a fool. It's a shame. People talk so highly of you on here, and then you go and say something so stupid it's beyond comprehension.
A person with a .38 revolver can take a life as easily as a person who carries a gun with a 16 round magazine.

I agree with sabidojo...the advancements in bullet technology have provided Leo/ccw the options to setup away from heavier caliber bullets (45/40) to smaller calipers (9/.380). In exchange the shooter has "more"ammo in magazines, smaller carry options, and more control for well placed shots (heart/lungs).
The differences between a 9mm gold dot/hst vs. 40 gold dot/hst. Are neglegable when compared using the FBI ballistic standards.

IMO there isn't a whole lot of difference until you get up somewhere around .357mag long barrels/.41mag/10mm.

I gotta hand it to you, you have to highest percentage of posts that say not a damn thing out of anybody in the history of the internet.

No. So I appreciate your pointing that out to me.
But what I do realize is that you clearly have never had any defensive handgun training. Maybe you should look into that, at which point I'd pay more attention to your simplistic opinions on the attributes one should look for in a carry gun.

That kind of video would break just about every rule of the YouTube contract.
It would have to hide in the depths of redtube...
