Have seen and passed several Bobcats this year. Curious what the OB does. Shoot em all or just watch em? And how much damage do you think they do on deer, turkeys, etc?

They’ll eat all the fish in your nets if you’re not vigilant

Killed 3 this year so far, will continue to shoot on site, foxes and coyotes will suffer the same fate, wife has a hen house and I don’t need her to be upset over them.

Also read a story where somehow they followed 3 bobcats for a year and the 3 of them ate 700 rabbits? Don’t know if I believe that but I like rabbits

Watched a huge one last week put the scope on him for few minutes before passing. Had to be 4’ long and 50#. Landowner said I should’ve shot him.

There part of the ecosystem and I think they are one of, if not the most badass mammal in the woods.

If you want to have turkeys, shoot every one you see. You won’t come close to killing them all.

To hell with rabbits. To a stew first, and then to hell.

I watch them with interest. Have hog issues where I see them the most.....don’t kill an animal that is most certainly eating piglets!

When I started hunting as a kid I would shoot them on sight. Now I enjoy watching them and let them do their thing.

You should eat one. You will never pass on them again and I'm serious.

I like watching them. I dont shoot coyotes either. They are part of the ecosystem and I'm not goin to shoot one just because it eats what I like to eat.

This was one of the coolest things that happened to me in the woods, he stayed around me for about an hour. Never knew I was there.

I've been wondering if they are good. Meateater always talks about cougar meat.

Very good eating. I know it's a cat but the meat is delicious.

Wow, that must suck to hunt with those restrictions, and I would be in some shite if those were the regulations where I hunt, but fortunately for me

These are my regulations....smartass

I could write a long post about how what most of us are really seeking when we go hunting is to experience nature and how bobcats and other predators are an awesome part of it. But, it wouldn't change anyone's mind who doesn't already believe the same.

So, I'll just summarize, I'm not opposed to people legally killing bobcats as long as the biologists are paying attention to limits/population numbers. However, I have zero desire to ever kill one myself.
