The state and federal fish cops fly in Alaska and see everything. You aren't going to get away with much illegal activity as far as hunting goes. The game laws are also very serious and have major penalties. The idea of doing what you want hunting wise isn't reality.
If the property requires you to fly in, what type of transport will you have when the plane is gone?
If you are serious about it, fly up there and camp on that land for a week with sellers permission. It might be great or terrible, but you'd make an informed decision. If you buy and don't like it, your market to sell may be small.

seems the majority on the board though are just trying to say that buying a couple acres and visiting each year costs a lot more money and time than it seems like you are acting it does.

Nah, people just over analyze things.

I love the idea of buying 40 acres off the grid
main issue with being "off the grid" (or far away from urban areas) is proximity to emergency services. You never know when you may need them...otherwise, I love the idea of being far from urban areas...not sure I could do it full time, though

It's definitely a consideration. I'm looking at semi remote property 100 miles from here and the nearest facility is a part time clinic staffed by a nurse. I could get medivacced here in 45 min though.

I talked to someone about a medivac plan for our place. Price is not bad. Once you sign up, they fly it and make sure LZ is good in case they have to come get you one day.

If there are Methheads in Alaska they will live in your cabin while you're in the lower 48. They will then burn down your cabin while they're cooking the Meth.

The basic concept of remote property pretty much assures no methheads

All kidding aside, I'm envious about your place and it sounds like you've thought through most of the hurdles. There will always be some surprises but it appears you're ready. Send pics.

what is a time/distance from medical facilities where medivac becomes imperative?

Chicken, our camp is in Madison Parish. They have an air ambulance service that is free to residents, but is cheap for non parish residents. We are a minimum of 45 minutes from decent care.
