Looking for a carburetor for a 2014 Briggs and Stratton prodrive. 36hp.
Part # 845870
I am located in Baton Rouge.
I have been back and forth with prodrive for two weeks. They fixed a “few” things but not enough to make it run without any issues.
I spent $600 with them two weeks ago and they are now asking $525 to replace carburetor. They are obviously giving me the run around.

I know someone that works on them on the side and he is asking $200 for a used one that has 40hrs on it.
Guy replaced it with a stage 2.
I know this is last minute but need some help guys. Need this running for thanksgiving morning.
I called:
Ivy’s.
Boats unlimited.
K&D
Cajun outboards.
No luck. Best case would be after thanksgiving.
Think my best bet is the used one for $200?

UPDATE:
Bought carburetor off ole boy in Simmesport.
Slapped it on there and she cranked just fine.
Boat sounded and idled better than when I first got it.
Let it run about 10 minutes after. Fresh fuel.
Cranked it again before I left town. Cranked it last night and again this morning. All together it ran about 20-30 minutes (out of water).
Put the boat in this morning. Ran good for about 5 minutes. Got on a good plane and then killed completely.
Was able to crank it back up a few times, but kept cutting out.
What has me baffled is that it was able to run fine the past few nights and once I put it in the water is when the problem started.
After a good half mile paddle I am back at the camp.
About 45 minutes from lake Charles.
Ideas anyone?

Have you tried one of the big lawnmower shops in BR, Amazon/EBAY? B&S is going to be pretty standard so PD is going to hang one in ya if you can't or won't start working on your own shiate. FWIW, i would buy the used carb and install it myself and be done with this easter egg hunt.
Time, Money, Knowledge, pick one and roll with it.

Kemo- yes I have tried eBay and Amazon and not getting any hits. They have one on eBay but worried about it not getting it in time

I will probably just go with the used one as I am on an Easter egg hunt but there is no egg.
I screwed around and waited to and now in a bind.
Do not know my way around a boat to well as my dad got rid of his 12 years ago when he realized it was a pain in the arse.
Replacing carb should be pretty straight forward? Have a buddy that is pretty handy but do not want to screw anything up more than it is.

Try Gator Trax. They should have them in stock or a take off from a mikuni upgrade.

Tried K&D earlier today. They would have to order it and best case scenario would be after thanksgiving.

Rightttt, because I seriously think purchasing a new motor is cheaper than a carb... I am an idiot!

sounds like a fuel issue. did you try cleaning the carbs? do you have another smaller gas tank with fresh gas in it? you could run that to motor to verify its nothing upstream of the motor.
